All Kinds of Awesomeness
This is a little off-topic, but I'm going to share it anyway.
For those who didn't already know, I have been staying at the home of one of my best friends from college these past couple of weeks. To help keep myself somewhat in shape with some light exercise while I'm here, I've been going outside most evenings to shoot hoops with my friend's niece and nephew along with a couple of the neighborhood kids. It's kind of a win-win--I get to relive some childhood fun, and the kids get to hang out with a grownup they can actually beat at ball. :) I am leaving this weekend, and this afternoon was most likely my last time to shoot around with them this trip. So, tonight after we had all gone inside, three of them got together and made me this really nice little "thank you" booklet, with pictures and comments on a page from each of them. I am absolutely overwhelmed (a little misty-eyed while typing this, actually). Kids are so awesome.
I am about to sit down and try to watch some of the Suns-Heat game on archives. I am looking forward to seeing that forth quarter surge, and a reminder that maybe, just maybe the Suns we all know and love are still in there somewhere. But regardless of what happened on the court in Miami, my night was already made by three little kids whose parents should feel very proud.
Thanks again to JSun, jasonsuns1, and SwingMan for filling in on the game commentary this week. This has been very helpful, as it let me spend time with my friends while still keeping the blog hopping with activity. One more week of traveling to go. I'm hoping to have a surprise of my own for everyone here next week.

You're very welcome, Tex
Also glad you had the chance to get away for a while - sounds like just what the doc ordered for the soul.

I Just Noticed This
Shooting hoops with the kids is wonderful.
My dad graduated from UK (he moved to Lexingon when he was 15). One of my favorite memories was right after Grandpa's funeral. Dad and his brother drove us to a hoop. There was, literally, a hoop in the middle of a park with some asphat around the hoop so we could dribble. It was straight out of "Hooisers" and right down the street from my grandmother's house.
Shooting hoops is such a wonderful activity. "I got hoop dreams, coach!"
