Around SBN: VIDEO: Austin Rivers' Buzzer Beater Finishes Off UNC

In the spirt of giving ...

In the spirit of the holiday season, I compiled this video of all 16 of Steve Nash's assists from the Toronto game:

I hope everybody enjoys taking another look at the generosity of our master giver!

While I was compiling the video, I noted these interesting tidbits.

Recipients of Nash assists vs Toronto:
Amare - 6
LB - 4
Hill - 2
Marion, Banks, Skinner, Boris - 1 apiece

Assists by quarter:
1st - 4 (Amare, Hill, Trix, Banks)
2nd - 4 (LB, LB, Skinner, Amare)
3rd - 7 (Amare, Hill, Amare, Boris, Amare, LB, LB)
4th - 1 (Amare)

Thanks SueB!
I am in awe of Steve Nash almost every time he plays. His court vision is ridiculous and his ability to make a pass to anywhere with either hand, in front, behind the back, or over his head is simply amazing. We've seen great scorers in the league before and we'll see them again, but I don't think there's ever been a playmaker like Nash.

I'm probably preaching to the choir but some of those passes... damn.

My favorites
Half court bounce pass to Grant Hill at 2:05
Rebound in the paint, behind the back to Barbosa for 3 at 3:33
and ANOTHER half court bounce pass to Barbosa this time at 4:07

Pinpoint half-court bounce passes
Yeah, the long pinpoint bounce passes are my faves, too. It's amazing how he can, as EJ describes, "skip" them so they don't bounce high, and they end up getting past the defenders' fingertips by, it seems, millimeters.

I enjoy the efficiency of all assists to Amare, and it interested me that - if you don't count the ones at the end of the half and the start of the second - none of Amare's six buckets-off-Nash assists came consecutively. As if Nash was consciously changing things up each time down.

And of course the most amazing thing about this game was the zero turnovers.
