Game Thread: Phoenix Suns vs Houston Rockets

This is a game that should put the Suns back on the right track.  I think this for two reasons:

  1.  The Rockets are a good team so the Suns will bring their A game.
  2.  The Rockets have Yao Ming and he can't run with Amare Stoudemire.
I'm predicting a 15 point win.  Will it happen?  Who knows but that's what I think it will be.  The Suns need to push the ball, play the game they know they can play and take the ball inside to let Amare pound on Yao.  Especially in the 3rd and 4th quarter when Yao gets tired.

This is a warm-up game for Wednesday but I don't think the Suns will be looking past Houston.  If anything, they'll use this as a launch-pad for Wednesday's game.

What do you think?  Let me know in the comments.

Editor's Note: I screwed up. I thought it was an away game. But it's a home game. So there are only two reasons why the Suns will win. Sorry about that!

Amen to a strong win
The Suns have been recently been playing around with weeker teams and cnsequently their intensity has died a bit, but tonight when the Suns play the Rockets, they will be playing a real team in the league and I agree with Dan in that we will see the magic that we were so used to seeing earlier this year with big plays and big leads.

Reason #3
The fact that it's a home game isn't a reason why the Suns will win?

Not really...
It seems like they are expected to win at home.  But when they are on the road, they seem to pick up the intensity even more.  So being at home is a benefit for them but being on the road is a reason they should win.  That probably doesn't make much sense...but hey, it's Monday.

Hmmm...
Well, I do see your point. In 2004-05 I happen to think the Suns were better on the road than they were at home, despite the equal record at both (they "rested" during a couple of home games at the end that they might have won). With the current team, I can't say. But they are very good no matter where they play--when they want to be.

ugh
I meant "they rested during a couple of road games". Otherwise, what I just said makes no sense. LOL. I guess I'm tired too. :)

Dan is a genius!
Dan, you almost got the perfect prediction. The Suns even outscored your prediction. I was able to watch only the 4th quarter, but what a joy it was to watch the Suns play like the Suns!

Dan is a genius!
After watching the Suns struggle for the last two/three games, it was refreshing to see them kick some ass(again). Wednesday is going to be a nail biter; also, the Mavs are always good at home. The loss at Golden State was good for the Suns because it gives the Suns a psychological edge when they meet them Wednesday. All-in-all, the game was wonderful to watch and the Suns proved that they are a team to be reckoned with, lets hope that they stay healthy for the rest of the season....Good Luck In Dallas!!!!
