Gunz's Sunday morning coffee conversation
Marion...Matrix. I recently read through an article in the ESPN magazine about how the Matrix doesn't feel like he is getting any recognition. To his credit...he isn't whining, he is just stating the facts as he see's it. I for one, love the way the man plays the game, and would hate to see him go. I was glad when we drafted him, and would be more than happy to see him retire a Sun, but lets face it....with MVP Nash here...he will always be second fiddle and sometimes third behind STAT. It had a piece in there about Joe Johnson and his cry for recognition, and now look at him...he's getting recognition, however the only shot at the playoffs he has is at home on his PS3 (or XBOX...cmon you know he has one). It seems Marion wants to be the man, and unfortunatly, its not happening in Phoenix.
This all brings me to the off season, correct me if I am wrong (which happens alot, so my feelings won't be hurt), but wasn't there alot of trade rumors between TRIX and Garnett? Garnett has learned the lesson that being the man, doesn't mean squat on a team oriented sport. I think that he would kill to be in the position that Marion is in. Would that be a possible senario if Marion pushes his hand. Its not much of a hand granted with the recent contract he has, but none the less...would it benifit the Suns?
As I stated earlier....I would love the Matrix to stay....I enjoy how he plays, and even more his proffesionalism for not being a whiny, self centered player who only thinks of himself. He just wants the recognition I think he deserves, but at the same time, with Nash and Stat....he is gunna have to learn to share.
What do you think?
Don't get all upset if there is a word or two that isn't spelled correctly or the grammer is a bit off....its Sunday morning....enjoy your day.

Long Live The Matrix!!!
With all that in mind I'd have to say that I'd miss him if he goes after this season. Now let me correct you Gunz but i'm almost certain that there is no kind of straight up swap being planned with Garnnet for Trix. It just wouldnt happen, especially with the certainty of the Suns trying to get under the salary cap this season.
The likelyhood of the Matrix trade comes from the situation with the draft. For there is the very good possibility that we will keep Atlanta's pick, puting us at arroung 4-6 in the first round (as long as the lottery doesnt move atlanta into the 3 spot then it would be their pick). Thus the rumors have it that if we get that 4th pick the Suns may try to package Marion along with the other 2 first round picks we have (clevelands) in order to move up into either the 3rd or especially the 2nd spot. With that in mind there is the very good possibily that we can get either Oden or Durant, which needless to say would be pretty dam sweet.
So with that in mind there's a good chance we'll lose Marion at the end of the season, if only to get under the cap. Yet I think that it'ss still in the air......depending on how the playoffs go.

Trade rumors
A true team player does not crave for individual recognition. Nash is one of those, and I think Bell and Barbosa (even Jalen Rose) are in that category. The individual recognition is icing on the cake for Nash As long as they don't have the championship ring, most other players will want to be on this team. Once they have it, things could change drastically.
If the Suns win the title this year, chances are some of their players would want to capitalize on it and move to subpar teams where they will be the heroes. Marion could be one of those. I love the Matrix, and I would hate to see him leave. I would hate it even more if he left on negative terms like Joe Johnson.
