Stevie's Nose

I haven't heard anything about the status of Steve Nash's nose yet but here's a link to a picture on ESPN:

ouch!
I can't imagine this keeping Steve out of any playing time. If it was on his hand I'd be worried about it, we all saw how much a hand injury hurt Walton from the Lakers.

Just for fun we should say it's fake blood, like with bloody sock from the red sox. You know, steve trying to motivate 1 or 2 of his teammates who don't
play with the energy needed to beat the Spurs.

Ha!
Hilarious.  I think we should definitely start the rumor that it is fake blood to motivate everyone.  That's an awesome story.

The bloody sock was fake?
I don't follow baseball. I didn't know the bloody sock was fake. Really? Or was that just a rumor?

I saw it on TV
I did not tape the game, but on TV they showed hiim sitting on the bench, with a bloody nose. He looked awful, but he went back in the game. What a warrior! His teammates who did not put enough effort into the game today should feel ashamed of themselves.  It's a pity that his heroics did not result in a W for his team.

I hope he can play on Tues.

hi mrs. gossip
Only a helpful idea, if you want to make a link clickable (so it can be clicked on and go right to the web page your referring to), have a second window (web browser open) with the web page you want, select the link so it's all blue (high lighted), then, ctrl c or right click and copy the link into memory. Then. in the comments your trying to post it'd be something like this

The above is an image of the tags you'd enter to create a link to yahoo. Below is a link to the article you mentioned. It's much better to copy the link and paste it, when trying to type it out, if an extra space or something is put in, it won't work.

Link to your article

Hope you didn't mind the word on this, once you do it a few times, we could talk about images, nice to see new people on this

Go SUNS!! This blog is pretty cool, most people on it make very thoughtful comments instead of just attacking each others blog, even though I'm much better than,.... just kidding

Hey Miss Gossip!
For everyone who doesn't know, Miss Gossip has an awesome cool Suns blog site. Absolutely hilarious, and really creative.  Not updated very often these days (I think she's busy with something else), but well worth a look every time she does it. Go check it out! :)

Very funny
Jasonsun1,

That is very funny- actually a lot of your comments. I needed a little laughter after yesterday's heart breaking loss.

Laughter
Ok, I guess it's not gloating if even Mavericks fans find it funny, and since we could all use something to brighten our day right about now:

Here's a Dallas Morning News blogger's idea for a new Mavericks team logo.

And for all the computer geeks on this board...
Here's something I found on AZCentral:

public boolean beatSpurs(){

@FourthQtrs /annotate the focus

diaw = make15ftrs() && postFinley() && stayWithHorry();
marion = noCasper(ONLY_SECOND_ROUND,BOWEN) && initiateContact(TD);
bell = tradeFlops(MANU) && tradeBigShots(MANU);
barbosa = noMistake() && notBlurred() && initiateContact(TD);

if (diaw && marion && bell && barbosa && bigsBoxOut )
return true; /
let us proceed...
else
return false; //dimantle team, it'll never end...0 & 39! 0 & 40!...
}

by TexSUN on May 7, 2007 8:57 AM MDT reply actions

I guess we should probably add
...to the above function:

nash = noContact(nose,PARKER);
amare = noFouls() && getBigRebounds() && own(TD);

Sorry, I didn't quite get that
Could you compile it into straight machine code for, say, an 8086/8088 based processor?  Your higher level language baffles me.

P.S. If you could also compile it for the 6502, I would literally marry you, just for knowing the 6502 architecture ;)

huh?
I had always suspected that this was a sports blog for techies and now I have proof!!!

My geek days are long gone...
...and at the same time, I'm the only person I know who's machine is missing the cover for its (full tower case), so I taped cardboard to the sides.

It's literally a hybrid, salvage system that I (with assistance from my mch younger/more tech savvy brothers) put together from spare parts garnered from friends and family.

It raises eyebrows....but it suits me fine.  In fact, it's perfect.

Nice logo
I'm still pissed about losing to the Warriors, but I had a great laugh at the above logo.  Sorry about game 1 fellas, but you can still come back.  I am personally hoping that Nash goes with the Rip Hamilton mask now.  That would be awesome!

LSUMavsfan,

That was magnanimous. Thanks for the good wishes.

SA WHINING
As you surely know, every Suns fan is disgusted with SA's constant whining, and with good reason. It has an effect on the outcome of games. It works, and it's been orchestrated by Popovich. Is there any other team in the league that whines like SA? It seems like every whistle results in a personal consultation between ref and SA player (or coach). These refs are intimidated by SA - think of the Joey Crawford incident. This is disgusting. Just a few calls like the Stoudemire/Duncan call in game 1 can and do make a difference. If I were Suns management, I'd orchestrate a response to this constant whining - get the fans into a whiner chant every time an SA player consults with a ref. This wouldn't be hard to do with video signage, placards, cheerleaders, whatever. In fact, getting fans to practice a coordinated whiner chant during warmups would be a great psychological ploy. Can someone help make this happen?

by bobg on May 7, 2007 10:37 AM MDT reply actions

Spurs whiny?
What you mean someone has actually noticed that the Spurs NEVER think they commit a foul?  God forbid that Duncan or Ginobli actually get called for a foul.  That doesn't happen because San Antonio plays such "GREAT" defense.  If you call being all in someone's jock and consistently fouling someone like Bowen does great defense, then the Spurs are great.  I'm so sick of their cry baby act.  Does anyone know what Ginobli means in Spanish?  I think it means a certain female body part if you catch my drift.

KTAR
On my car radio this morning I heard KTAR playing the sound of a baby crying to simulate the Spurs- LOL. Their suggestion was to carry rattles to the game and every time the Spurs whine and cry like babies. (actually this is a bit of an exaggeration; I don't think the Spurs are quite that bad, but I just thought the whole thing was funny, esp. with the baby crying).

Nash!!!!
In my opinion this play represents the Suns vs Spurs and just how overdone the acting jobs can get ... I love how Tony Parker is curled up in the fetal position after cracking open Nash's face... while Nash stands there ready to help him up, completely unshaken.... another ideal time to kiss the biceps.

I'm surprised the rest of the Spurs didn't simultaneously drop to the floor and grab their foreheads. Apparently bruised foreheads can get mighty painful:

by Trvs on May 7, 2007 12:51 PM MDT reply actions

nice post thanks
You can really see Duncan pushing Nash on that layup Nash made. Another blown call!

by jasonsuns1 on May 7, 2007 1:09 PM MDT up reply actions

In all seriousness...
... Nash should have fallen to the ground and hit a few camera guys.  Maybe even curled up into a ball and rolled around.  That's how the Spurs play and the get rewarded for it and in a close game with them, unfortunately that may be what it takes to get the calls on those guys.

by Trvs on May 7, 2007 1:25 PM MDT up reply actions

now with the nose
All he has to do is fall and bleed! Personally, I want to see blood on the basketball. Really like the idea of having the fans in the stadium having baby rattles, etc

by jasonsuns1 on May 7, 2007 2:21 PM MDT reply actions

Nash's nose
You know, one thing I've been wondering about Nash's nose injury: Does Tony Parker have a shard of glass embedded in his forehead or something? I have managed to smack various body parts against hard objects before, and while I have ended up with some whopper bruises, I have never ever gotten a bloody gash just by smashing against a hard-but-smooth object. Let alone one that required six stitches. All you guys who play sports: Have you ever had an injury like that?

by TexSUN on May 8, 2007 12:31 AM MDT reply actions

Band aids?
Someone at work told me that on the radio the announcers were asking the fans at the game to wear band aids on their noses. Has anyone heard about this? I am going to carry 2 bandaids, just in case (otherwise I may feel left out).

by Vash01 @ Bright Side Of The Sun on May 8, 2007 2:40 PM MDT reply actions

just heard
on KTAR they are giving away "Sports 620 KTAR" bandaids to everyone that comes to the game...!!!
