Trades I'd like to see

I would ONLY trade Marion to Boston if we get a good deal from them.

THEN....

Trade Diaw and late 1st round pick for Artest

THEN...

trade Ratliff and late 1st round pick for Camby.

PG - Nash
SG- Bell
SF- Artest
PF- Amare
C - Camby

Bench: Barbosa, KT, 5th overall pick, Gomes/Green, West, Jones

That's a GREAT starting lineup and we're 11 deep as  a team.  I don't know if we'd be over the cap by a lot?  Let me see the total salary for next year

Nash - 11.375M
Bell - 4.75M
Artest - 7.8M
Amare - 13.26M
Camby - 8M
Barbosa - 5.6M
KT - 8.1M
5th pick - ?
Gomes/Green - 780k or 1.4M (depending who we get)
West - 1.8M
Jones - 2.9M

Total team salary is - 65M and this is going with Green's 1.4M contract and this is without the 5th overall pick included.  So that's 65M with 10 players while we have to include the pick and another player to have 12.

As of right now, we're at 76M with 10 players so our contracts are in fact less if we made the trades.

I think the starting lineup of Nash, Bell, Artest, Amare, and Camby could lead us to having the best defensive team in the NBA while still being very good offensively.

Man, you drink as much as I do
You've got a grand idea, but never fully explained:

1: What are The Suns are getting from the Cletics, in return, other than possibly a #5 pick, Ratliff and Gomes OR Green?  You think Paul Pierce loves that much Matrix?  Tell me why.

1a) it's a loaded question.

2: Why shouldn't we just three-way trade Diaw to Sac with our 2007 second round pick (assuming Suns have one after this trade, and in any event whichever second rounder's most favorable spot) and our #29, for Artest, who we bundle with Ratliff as we send BOTH to Denver in exchange for Camby, Steve Blake, and a 2008 first round pick?

2a) what an interrogative!

Denver feels good about itself:  it's overspending, but doesn't feel it's overreaching...with Iverson, "GetMo Snitch" Anthony, Artest, and Ratliff anchoring the middle.

Suns clear some cap and get Camby and un-refined clone of Steve Nash who shares the same first name.

Just a guess......

Just one problem
Diaw is BYC, I'm almost sure it doesn't work.

denver trade
I don't think it works either and I'm 100% sure Denver would not do this trade.

Marion for Boston #5?
I considered this possibility but Boston will get a lot out of this trade than the Suns would. Marion plays muliple positions and brings in lots of experience. The Suns would be gambling with a new draftee. Not all top players make it in the NBA.

If money is the consideration, I would like to see the Suns trade multiple players instead of one big money maker. I know it's still not enough but Marion is too valuable to the team. We are too close to the title to make such a major change.

We do need someone like KG or Camby. I don't think Camby is a possibility but KG is unhappy in Minn and he may be available more readily (plus he is older, which could discourage other teams from investing in him).
