I can watch the NBA Finals now!
Congratulations to the Cleveland Cavaliers, to the NBA and to me! LeBron James (and someone named Daniel Gibson) led his team past the Detroit Pistons in 6 games to get to the NBA Finals. And now, because it isn't a Detroit/San Antonio finals, I actually am excited to watch again.
The prospect of watching a 65-60 game when the Spurs and Pistons played each other just was not enticing. But watching LeBron James and the Cavaliers play just got me excited about watching the NBA again.
If you haven't figured it out yet, I'll be rooting really hard for the Cavaliers this coming week. It should be a fun series.

However, I am glad it is not Detroit in the finals.
That also means the Spurs could win 4-0.
There is no happy ending to this season.

Go Cavs!
I'm not upset because I feel like we could have beaten the Cavs easily, I'm excited. Somehow this feels like a victory.
Maybe because it's a victory over all those 'experts' who assumed the Pistons would roll over the Cavs easily, the same 'experts' who after the Spurs-Suns series insisted on saying 'the better team just won.'
Ha!
These experts have s@%& for brains, and I'm rooting for the improbable of the Cavs beating the Spurs, just to stick it to the 'experts' some more!
It also feels good because frankly it makes me feel even stronger than ever that we really were one of the 2 best teams in the playoffs. I know it has a lot to do with match-ups and all that, but the Mavericks and the Pistons didn't just lose to the Warriors and the Cavs. They lost to those teams while looking like less-than-elite teams.
Is there anybody here who believes that there's a single team in the league that the Suns wouldn't have at least matched blow-for-blow, regardless of 'match-ups'?
The Warriors were scary, but we would have found a way to match them (they sucker-punched us in the regular season - wouldn't we have found a way to, at the very least, make it a real series in the playoffs?) The Pistons played the game of their lives and took advantage of our exhaustion. The Jazz out-hustled us in the first 3 games and thus were able to pull out close wins - but the playoffs are a different story.
And most tellingly of all, in the playoffs, we matched the vaunted Spurs in those 1st 4 games.
Maybe this kind of thinking makes most people bitter - what could have been? But I've felt my fair share of bitterness since the Suns lost and about this I feel good, because it makes me confident in how great my team was, even though they lost the chance to prove it.

Go Spurs
LeBron puts up some great all-around numbers, but do we look back on Oscar Robertson (admittedly an all-time great) as the KING?
Jordan averaged 32.5 ppg, 8 rpg, 8 apg and 2.89 spg with 53.8% shooting in what was essentially his 4th year in the league (since he only played 18 games in his 2nd year). Is that why he's viewed as perhaps the greatest of all time?
LeBron's a great player, but I'm sick of the hype-machine of people who are over-hungry for the next Jordan-sized superstar. Besides, I don't know if I like the emphasis on great PLAYERS (whether they pass the ball or not) as opposed to great TEAMS.

Watching LeBron
The Spurs will still win in 4 or 5, though. And each win will be by around 10 points.
I will root for him even though he's an ego-maniac. If that was a disqualifier, I couldn't root for anyone in pro sports.

I'm not sure
The Cavs swept the Spurs in the regular season...I'm just saying.

here is my prediction
BTW, I finally figure why this rigged league wanted the Spurs to beat the Suns if Detroit would come out of the East, which seemed very likely at the time. NBA loves two things (in this order): Jordon and dynasty. The Jordon-like people were in the East, LeBron or Wade. During the the Spurs and Suns series, Detroit was going to win the East. So the league wanted Spurs to win the title as it would be a dynasty (4-titles-in-10-years is kind of a dynasty.)
Now with LeBron being in the final, I think the Cavs have a great chance. (Not that they are a good time, it's just that NBA wants LeBron to rule.)
Another thing, I do believe it is impossible for the league to rig the results of the entire playoff from the beginning. What is possible is for them to change the results of one or two close games in a series, which causes momentum shifts. Again, last year's Wade and this year's Spurs-Suns are my proofs.
One last thing, I also expect to see another cheap-shot from Spurs.

agreed
In retrospect, an nba finals series between the Cavs and the Suns would have been very exciting- neither team has won the title; it would have been the first. Now it's David vs. Goliath.

David vs Goliath
On a side note, I find it amazing that the Commish, his Enforcer Putz (Stu Jackson), and the NBA just totally love the Spurs.
Like with their dirty play, they're supposed to be the so-called class of the NBA.
Puh-leez.
Bowen gets away with so many cheap shots it's not even funny.
Ginobili has a penchant for committing multiple underhanded uncalled fouls and immediately overacting when the playa guarding him retalliates.
Duncan consistently overreacts to personal foul calls that of course -- according to him -- he's never guilty of.
And Gregg Popovich acts like his guys are always the victims of the refs calls -- when his squad continues to benefit from the repeatedly bad officiating in these playoffs.
I'm sick and tired of the Spurs.
Go Cleveland!
