Andrew Bynum ('s agent) is Insane
Bynum wants nearly $17M a year in his new deal? Here is a link to the article. For just 30 good games? Is he worth that much? I guess teams in LA or NY (or ones owned by computer billionaires) don't have the luxury tax concerns that the rest of the leauge has, but isn't this quite over-priced?
As a Suns fan, I don't want Bynum to sign as he could be a key piece of a lot of runs. So, maybe I'm biased, but this sure seems like a ton of dough for a relatively un-proven player.

Oh hell no
Any owner that would sign this guy to that kind of money now is seriously nuts.
The guy is a RESTRICTED Free Agent AFTER this season. I wouldn’t even talk to the agent until Feb this year. Let the kid play at least a few months before negotiating against yourself.

Hey, it might not be so bad.
Maybe the Lakers go crazy and pay him that much, and then he underperforms and wrecks their salary cap space.
Not on my worst enemy
I don’t even wish that on the Lakers. And that’s saying a lot.

2nded. I like to watch the Lakers suffer. It’d be great if they could reach some Clippersesque or Grissly like fortunes.
they will never pay it
he is so unproven

he might be worth it eventually...
but not yet. considering Marion’s getting paid about the same this year, and players like Josh Smith and Andre Iguodala are getting $12-15 million. Lakers should wait until this summer to work out the contract so they can see him play more. if they negotiate earlier they should be getting a discount – $14 mil or something….
What agent isn't nuts?
Lakers will let the season run its course, Bynum will be a double/double and then the Lakers will lock him up. He aint going nowhere.

Nuts for an up and comer.
That’s insane. He is an up and comer. Young and unproven. Maybe good, but let’s not label him the next great big man yet. In this case in the salary dept.

well
the laker owner doesn’t want to go over 100 million, so I could see him getting it if he waits till next summer but then we can’t keep farmar unless we do something else. Its gonna be pretty complicated next summer (as a fan though, I think its a great problem).

Well, ESPN is reporting that they have agreed to a 4 year/64 million deal. JSun, I guess the agent wasn’t insane. The Lakers front office on the other hand…
