Shaq physics
Did he mention the increased momentum experienced by the smaller object when the collission in mid-air is augmented by an external unit of work, i.e. power source such a said larger bodyaccelerating toward the previously described smaller body? The result would be that the additional force exerted would produce a slightly different post-collision path than normally would be expected.
Say we had a cue ball that was mass 3 and a one ball that was mass 2. The post collision paths of the two objects could be predicted, unless the velocity of the cue ball suddenly increased moments before the collision. In that case, the one ball would violently collide with the rail, producing possible internal instability such that if the one ball had a brain, it would be momentarily disoriented.
I did not see the play, but it seems like we need to hear from the one ball. What does rodney stuckey have to say about the physics of this expirement? Did he report disorientation, muscle weakness, or a need to visit the restroom? was an ambulance called? I say if the smaller body did not exhibit commensurate symptoms of disorientation, then the Commissioner of Physics has no choice but to rule the collision to be incidental and not worthy of further punishment.
After all, Shaq is just a very large cue ball.

A big black cue ball.
now he’s behind the 8ball. =(

Remedial Physics Class
Shaq’s understanding of physics is about as good as his understanding of geometry (or his sock puppetmaster’s understanding of the Pythagorean Thereom).
The entirety of the law is that “A body in motion (or, at rest) stays in motion (or, at rest) unless acted upon by an outside force.” Gravity works on Earth, so Stuckey would’ve hit the ground eventually.
He probably should have cited Newton’s Third Law, which is “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.” That’s what happens when you run into a brick wall.

Actually
I found Shaq’s description shockingly accurate. He said, “Duh, there was follow through because there was a windup.” and he got the conservation of momemtum right: M1*V1B+m2*V2B=M1*V1A+m2*V2B. Transfer of momentum from a big mass to a small mass implies greater velocity.
He’d pass the undergrad physics lab I used to teach at ASU.

He got the wind-up part right
But I’m pretty sure he got the Law of Motion wrong. Am I missing something?
Remember to talk down to a non-mathematics guy over here.

I don't think so. He was saying follow through was inevitable.
What he didn’t consider was that follow-through implies wind-up.

I was talking about the "brick wall" quote

that was the conservation of momentum and what I read he said was correct
the smaller mass has to move away faster.
