Shaq Sock Puppet Revealed
Only a few short days ago this all started with a confused rant about the alleged Suns endorsement of what I thought to be a Fake Shaq that was tied to Vitamin Water. In fact, the Suns Digital Media Director was just as fooled as I was and best I can tell, VM wasn't involved at all.
Proud to play a tiny role in the Internets evolution. For those keeping score, this is the second national story we've broken this season. The first being this gem.
Just saying.

Looks like Ward Andrews was the better tweet

Window Closed? Shit, just break it then.
I'm curious
about this Lord B fellow. If questioning whether this twitter feed is really Shaq (even if we know the truth now) gets me a phone call and tickets from the big fellow, I’m suddenly very interested.
How funny.
Ward Andrews is a friend and classmate from Marcos de Niza.
Now he’s in the New York Times. And the guy who broke the story right here on the Bright Side of the Sun gets no mention.
Back to your mom’s basement, Stan!

Hah! That's hilarious!
You know Ward? I am in email contact with him now asking about all this! I will pass on your IRL name

Wow, a big hissy on the internets.
Suns PR dept is in rapt excitement, Twitter founder in rapt excitement, Shaq in rapt excitement by the coverage!

3740 followers in one day !
fake shaq only had less than 500.

This is all hilarious
I do have to say that I love how fast Real Shaq jumped into this.
I now know that he eats at Deluxe. Great choice!
I know that eats at Subway. So do I!
And I know he also thinks Shane Batier’s green coat is silly.
I feel the bonds building already

Karma
Your Shaq-hate and internet watch-dog activities have resulted in a boon for Shaq’s marketing department.
Mmmmm ... Guinness
Just proves that
there’s no such thing as bad PR

That's good PR
Bad for presidential campaigns (until the 90s when it became good PR), but good for getting dates. “Hey, I’m rich and I’m dating.”
Mmmmm ... Guinness
You had to go to the Gary Hart card
from 1988?

Dime Magazine
Basically Andy Katz somehow posted a story on DIME that was similar to Stan’s post but only 1 day later.

Either ya all are drinking from the same internet fountain or someone’s copying.
