Suns Trounce Nets in Historic Victory
The battle tested veterans proved once again tonight that victory comes to those who put their team first.
The young upstart Nets, untried on the national stage and unproven against enemies who will surely test them, fought valiently but in the end it was experience that triumphed over hope.
BSoS Blogfather Dan Hilton has the Suns.com Recap
- 7 players in double figures
- 63% from the field and 12-18 from 3
- Are those numbers right? Should we expecting a recount here?
Ed note: I haven't watched this game yet on Tivo. I had soccer practice with the kids and then hung out and watched a marathon of Project Runway on Bravo.

So this is a bench?
Up by 15 going into the fourth against a poor team on the first leg of a 4 game roadie and the second team …. holds the opponent to 9 points in the fourth quarter. Who cares if they don’t score 30!
This is the recipe for padding your record on these long trips against sub-standard teams.

Boy.
I love seeing just nine points in the fourth quarter.
I don’t love not getting to see the game. Or the election coverage.
Ah well.

Because
It’s the first time that the Nets have lost on Election Day. Now, they’re 1 and 1.

The Suns--under-rated? Those wacky announcers!
Basketbawful had a funny run-down on Marv Alpert making fun of Mike Fratello as he got loose on the telestrator while they were looking ahead at the Nets’ schedule during last nights game. Of more interest was later it the telecast as the Czar dropped an “underrated” tag on the Suns—he ran through the roster, and combined with some observations of how well the Suns were playing, suggested that the demise of the Suns as trumpeted by the national media was not necessarily so.
Now, the Nets are probably headed for the worst record in the East, but part of being a good team is crushing the cupcakes when they show up, and I really like what I saw in the boxscore today—starter’s minutes in the mid-20s, and getting a nice rest on the front end of a back to back.
