KJ Elected Mayor of Sacramento
Kevin Johnson was elected mayor of Sacramento yesterday by a fairly large margin: 58% to 42%.
Considering that he was running against a 2-term incumbent, the fact that he won by a 16% difference is pretty impressive.
Here's hoping that KJ will do well in the office, handing out assists to the community like he used to with Thunder Dan, Tom Chambers and the Round Mound of Rebound.

EDIT: Here's a much better story on his election from ESPN

Good
KJ one of my favorites. His dunk on Hakeem is one of the best in Suns History. Too bad couldn’t beat them!
"Have You heard of the Boom on Mizar 5?"
Hmm...
I’m a new resident of the Sac area, moving up from PHX. I watched a couple of the debates with KJ and the soon-to-be-former mayor. I think she beat herself more than he won the election with a better than thou art attitude. KJ didn’t seem to have very well developed plans for the future. Here’s hoping all goes well on his watch.
familiar
Kind of like another prominent recently elected African-American
