while like most suns fans, i originally hated the trade of shaq, this is why i think overall it was a good move by steve kerr:

1. the suns would NOT have won the championship last yr, even if they didnt trade marion. they could have possibly reached the finals (i doubt) but would nevertheless be crushed by boston.

2. would you trade shawn marion for shaq right now straight up? i know i WOULD NOT. i do know shawn marions contract expires, but really, which free agent could we get in your opinion? shaq is playing really well, we are outrebounding opponents, and his FG% is about 60% while marions is closer to 40%. so really, while marion was appreciated, would you honestly trade back marion for shaq?
