'Q' tells it like it was for Suns
Bob Young - Dec. 14, 2008 04:44 PM
The Arizona Republic
After all these years, Quentin Richardson is expected to play Monday against the Suns in Phoenix for the first time since he was traded for Kurt Thomas after the 2004-05 season.
You may recall that team started the season 31-4 en route to an NBA-best 62-20 record - despite having the youngest roster in the league.
Almost immediately, the Suns began tinkering with that club, trading Richardson and then sending Joe Johnson to Atlanta in a sign-and-trade.
Some deals made sense at the time. Some didn't.

Wow btw
These guys really sound bitter don’t they…
“They said he was going for the money. Yeah, after you stick it to him once, twice – man, you still think he’s coming back here? Joe did not want to leave. But that’s the business part. They have to cover their own butts so the fans won’t say, ‘You ruined our team.’ In actuality, they did.”
This was a Bryon Colangelo deal. Was Sarver the boss then or was it still Jerry?

and Kerr had been hired on as a "consultant" that year.
It appears that the Sarver/Kerr brain trust is super good at alienating people/playing victim afterwards IMO.
Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."

Ends vs Means
I remember having this convo on BSoS last year early. I would rather enjoy the season and be good and competitive for a long period of time vs the Heat one and done approach.

Rings aren't all that
I remember also how great it was when the D-Backs won. Very cool. Then it was over and they sucked for a long long long long time. Then they changed colors and now they sort of suck. maybe.

Exactly
Suns fans weren’t exactly screaming bloody murder when we traded him and Nate Robinson for KT.
That was a solid deal. The problem was that the coach wouldn’t play KT. And who made that deal? Who was the GM at that time? Anyone? That’s right. GMstache.
So Weaksaucestache trades away his gunning happy 2/3 and the kid that could easily have been Nash’s back up PG for a big man that he wouldn’t play (career low in minutes in Phx) and instead signs Marcus Banks to a big deal.
Let’s just remember that when we are playing the What If game w/ Kerr and Sarver.
