that one hurt...
Second christmas day in a row ruined despite the good presents.
tough loss, hopefully its not the type that doesnt get us in a funk.
Also…our bench had 2 points?!!!
…and Amare if you want to be “the guy” you cant be missing bunnies (lay ups) in the fourth quarter in a tight game. Those are crunch time minutes and thats where “the go to guy” is supposed to come out and preform. We had chances to put that game away. Besides that he did have a monster game 25pts 13rebs 3 ast 2 stls 2 blks.

"The Man" pretty much got punked in the fourth quarter.
Nice pass to Hill, but three straight possessions ended with miss, miss, and TO.
Next time anyone says “OMG TEH BLACK JEBUS IZ TEH MOST UNSTOPPABLE POWR FWD IN DA NBA”, I will punch them in the uvula.
Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."

J Rich
you can’t double on that play. you just can’t do it. you know you can’t do that. you know that tony was well guarded and you shouldn’t have left your man. you know the spurs wanted to win on the road with a 3 at the buzzer…and you allowed it. This isn’t golden state anymore Jason.
take, that

I have no idea why he double parker there… I mean roger mason isnt ray allen or posey but you still never leave a shooter like him wide open..

Heartbreak has a name
The Suns
This loss left me numb, and so very furious. So many things went right, but things like no bench production and poor possessions (minus the great STAT assist) at the end of the game left us vulnerable. We came out hot but we cooled down, and we held them to a very low shooting %, but allowed them to still make a game of things. This team is still very much a WIP (work in progress), but at least now it’s a better WIP. God this roller coaster of a season is draining, so very draining
Sigh
Ok, i’m off to have an excellent cigar, eat Christmas eve leftovers and drink very heavily to drown out the thought of this game.

too bad we didn't trade barbosa when we could've gotten someone for him
because he’s vanished from this team, that hurt us, lopez would’ve done better if he got more playing time, i like him on our team, but I think he’d develop better on a team that can give him 30 minutes a game instead of less than 5 or whatever he averages.
Shaq and Amare were fantastic really
Ali baba (Nash) and the 40 thieves ( 6 turnovers) killed us. I love Nash but 6 turnovers was the difference…on a few of the passes, nash had a wide open shot but forced the pass…that’s his biggest flaw…people know he’d rather pass…so they play for that…if only he was as aggressive as he was against dallas in the playoffs a few years ago when he scored close to 50 or so a few games in a row, he is the suns best shooter,
i’d like to think nash is a larry bird type, really competitive, great shooter, great passer (because he is)…it’s just 2 big things that make nash and bird different among other variances.
1. Bird had size and could rebound
2. Bird looked to score as much as pass, with nash, it’s not balanced, he looks too much for the pass and quite simply, it’s likely too late for him to wake up and change
(but, on the flip side..with amare, shaq, barnes. hill and JRich on your team, I’d feel like passing was the right thing to do also)
We should’ve won that game by 10. That’s the problem….

Yep
That’s what I was thinking while watching the game. He needs to shoot more often. He needs to become more of a threat so the other team’s defense starts collapsing like it used to years ago. He needs to do the same thing that CP3 is doing right now…Attack the basket and if they come to you make the pass otherwise shoot!

Here's the thing?
Can he still do it against the Spurs?
You probably noticed like I did that at the end of the game they put Bowen on him and the Spurs know how to shut down Nash and Amare to close out a game.
If we are going to win a close one its going to have to be someone else that does it. Pop has seen the Nash/Amare game too many times.

yep...good point on end game go to ideas
Believe me, I say this with a heavy heart, Barbosa has the type of simpleness and kindness that is admirable. And his speed is awesome, it’s fun watching him sprint past people on the court. I think your right p.s. (phoenix stan), the issues and thoughts on barbosa also have a lot to do with – how to best use barbosa…I think it’s clear barbosa’s game is bette suited to little defense – fast break ball.
but forget about barbosa – (whether we keep him or not) – the big issue is – can nash cleanup his turnover numbers (because – he’s had many other games with 3+ turnovers) down to 2 or less?
What is happening that Nash is making so many turnovers – if I had the time, I’d throw up videos of his turnovers and try to put some reason / explanation to what was happening – because the old positives about Nash running the offense are still there, it’s kind of cool to know that you have a guard who is automatic at the end of the game from the line, and who enjoys taking the big shot, but doesn’t feel it has to be him that takes it, etc
My point, I still love Nash and what he does for our team – it’s just why the high number of turn overs and can that number come down over the next 3 months, because it simply has to -
Some stats -
avg turnovers per game (of course minutes vary but – )
2007 2008
chris paul
tony parker 2.38 2.68
manu ginobili 2.7 2.31
kobe bryant 3.13 2.57
grant hill 1.37 1.89
jason kidd 2.79 2.56
devin harris 2.72 2.52
steve nash 3.64 3.75
see what I mean sadly…if Nash was like Paul and made a great number of steals, I wouldn’t be saying anything – but that’s sadly not the case
I’m not saying trade Nash – I’m saying – can this number come down and how?

I like
that Kratos from Tales of Symphonia is in there. Made me chuckle after a game that decidedly did not.
