Putting up the game thread a little early since we have an afternoon tip-off time. Keeping the preview brief since the hour is late (or early, depending on how you look at it): More of this, please.
OK, a few more points would be nice too.
[Update 11:47 AM MT]: Here is Hawk42's preview from the comments:
Chauncey Billups - he will have his way with Nash. CB is just the kind of burly point guard that gives Steve problems. I would like to see DJ on him for stretches.
Tayshawn Prince - He is one of the few around that is quick enough and long enough to give Grant Hill problems.
Rasheed Wallace - That darned guy always seems to hit a few crucial threes. He is a load down low when he wants to be, and can easily get STAT in foul trouble. The write-up says Shaq is on him, but I won't be surprised if D'A puts the quicker Amare on Rasheed, and Shaq on The Traitor. Ed. The Probable Starters aren't necessarily a matchup of who will guard who. Just taking what's in the official Game Notes.
From a Piston perspective, they have nobody to guard Shaq, and we should take advantage of that. Also, Diaw is a matchup nightmare, and I hope Boris comes out with fire in his belly. Those two players are my keys to the game.

what a great week for suns fans
Game prospects
The Pistons present unique problems. They are:

live from usac!
There are a LOT of Detroit fans here. Hope they don't suck like Lakers fans.
Game on
Q1 9:33 - Interesting note...
...Meanwhile, Detroit take the lid off the basket with two consecutive buckets, and Steve Nash does the honors for the Suns. 4-2, Pistons.
Q1 9:07 - Bell for three!
Good sign for Bell to hit one early.
Q1 5:47 - Nice defense
Q1 5:13 - Billups three-ball
Q1 3:49 - LB gets bailed out
...One of two for LB.
Q1 2:30 - ABC's Oscar Nominations
TPrince for Best Supporting
Ginobili for Best Foreign
...omitted Best Picture. That would be the Suns. Or maybe that's "Best Blockbuster"?
Q1 1:36 - Ugliest free throw yet
...Misses the second too, and wouldn't have mattered anyway thanks to the lane violation
THE PAIN
Q1 00:1.4 - This is getting ugly
horrible qtr
Btw there is nothing sexy about 80y/o women dancing. Worst. Idea. Ever.
I have the same thought
Besides, I don't think "sexy" is the reaction they're going for to begin with.
After one
Q2 11:16 - And the ugliness continues
Q2 9:45 - That looked like Suns ball
Q2 9:02 - Amare with the slam and the tech
ok
Q2 7:33 - Amare takes out his frustrations...
Q2 6:13 - Shaq tries to take the rim down
43-30, Pistons.
Q2 4:45 - That helps
willing

suns waking up
Q2 3:57 - Psyche!
Q2 2:09 - We have a run alright
Q2 1:13 - And the ugliness continues
put up the white flag
yep
At the half
Well, you don't win many games shooting 39% while letting your opponent shoot 51% and losing the battle on the boards by near double-digits (26-17). Amare, Nash, and Bell are the bright spots from the field. Hill, Diaw, and Shaq, not so much.
Good news: Nash's assist numbers are better. 5, which I think is the same as he had for the whole game on Friday. This with the Suns shooting a combined 39%. Turnovers are way down too from Friday's awful showing (on pace to cut that in half). Suns have a combined 5 fouls to the Pistons' 10, and no Sun has more than one.
yep
Muting Walton
yep
Bleh!
Q3 10:18 - Stop the bleeding
...and since when is Steve not a three-point shooter? ABC-diots.
Q3 9:35 - I think Steve heard...
Guess that wasn't a three?
ref fell
Q3 8:56 - That looked easy
Q3 7:57 - Shut it, USAC crowd
...I do get it, though. You pay for tickets, you should expect to see the home team show up.
wallace reminds me
Q3 6:43 - The game encapsulated right there
Lead up to 25 now after the Pistons score again. I don't think the real Suns have gotten out of bed yet. Some kind of impostors are at the USAC today.
A new low in commercials
Because they feel like they wasted their money
Q3 3:37 - We look like a D-League team
Jinx
Q3 3:07 - Please put in...
...They can give up a 34-point deficit as easily as the starters, and our "old guy" starters can.
Get some rest
Q3 2:43 - Shaq's free throws fit right in
wow
already did that in
For the record: I can miss layups for a lot less then $20m.

Q3 00:25 - We needed that MUCH sooner
Meanwhile, ABC crew thinks LB should start to get more shooting on the floor. Fine, but wouldn't we just be exchanging one three-point shooter for another? And we'd lose Bell's defense against the opponent's starting PG to boot.
...of course, last I heard, the number back up the ABC guys with LB as a starter having us something like 6-2 if I recall. But not sure what the quality of competition was at the 2-guard spot in those games.
Q4 11:35 - Forgot about Linton Johnson
Q4 8:39 - HOW THE HECK DO YOU MISS
AAAAARRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!
/end rant.
Q4 8:10 - About bloody time
Q4 5:39 - Best highlight of the game
Meanwhile, LB at the line to cut the deficit to 26. Yay.
Q4 5:07 - Linton Johnson on the board
...Linton with the second jumper, making him one of the Suns' best shooters tonight.
Q4 4:06 - Making a run!
Q4 1:28 - Give it up, DJ
Q4 00:19 - DJ does it again
...then for extra fun, we send the Pistons to the line too. Just shoot me.
And that's the game (thank goodness!)
Ugliest. Effort. Ever.
OK, maybe not ever but by far this season. What is it about playing the Pistons at home that gets to this team? Looking for a bright spot....still looking...still looking...hey, Linton Johnson made 2-of-4 and had a +2 in the plus/minus stat! Brent Barry who?
Jasonsuns1 has the recap, assuming he doesn't take me up on my offer to beg off. (Hate giving someone a "guest recap" for what turned out to be such a crapola of a game).
From Paul Coro's latest
On one hand, I feel bad for him. On the other, he did ask to be traded.
