Looks like the guys over at Blog a Bull are really hot on Coach D. Not sure if it's because he is like the anti-Skiles or what. Personally, I'd hate to loose him. His brand of basketball is refreshing. Not to mention, I have rarely watched a team where following a time out, in a critical situation, I consistently thought we had a fantastic shot coming our way. He draws up some very effective plays (occaisonal execution problems aside)!

Dropping by from Chicago...
A few months ago Suns assistant Phil Weber’s name came up on Blog a Bull. The context was that while we admired D’Antoni, we figured he wouldn’t be available, but perhaps his long-time trusted assistant Phil Weber might be.
Is there anything you can tell us about the guy? Should his hat be thrown in the Bulls’ ring? Thanks.
I’ll check back and fwd any pertinent responses.

D'Antoni isn't available b/c I say so!
Look forward to the “Fire Coach D?!” Pow-wow after the season.
I’m Coach D’Antoni’s public defender, no matter what happens this series.

Here’s a reposted excerpt of what I said on Blog a Bull about Weber and his potential to transition from assistant to head coach:
“As for Phil Weber, I may not be cued in enough to make a great comment on his readiness to be a head coach. I think he’s a great assistant who has done a great deal of good work mentoring both the younger and older guys we have as it pertains to shooting. From that perspective, perhaps he could make it work as he appears able to get respect from vets and young players.”

Phil Weber is a great assistant
But he doesn’t crack heads like you need to do to be a head coach. He’s the antithesis of Skiles, sure, but too much so.
No way, I don’t see it all.
