Alando Tucker's coming home

We haven't talked much about Tucker this season as he's been up and down to the Suns NBADL affiliate the Albuquerque Thunderbirds.

Alando is now coming back to Phoenix for good.

He performed very well for the T-birds:

In his third and final stint with the Thunderbirds after being assigned on March 14, Tucker averaged 28.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 37.4 minutes in 10 games.

Tucker shot 57.7 percent from the field, including 44.2 percent from three-point range, in his most recent stretch with Albuquerque, helping to lead the team to a 6-4 record. In 21 total games (19 starts) in Albuquerque this season, the Wisconsin product owns averages of 27.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists.

I don't expect to see much of him as a Sun this year but it looks like he's made a lot of progress in becoming a perimeter player. We will talk more about AT this summer as we look at what next year's team might look like.

Tucker's stats
Either that, or the competition in the D league is woeful.  What'd he average in college, about 19 points?  So the D league competition is below Big Ten calibre.

another NBADL tidbit...
I remember reading in a story on Yahoo that the reason many players do not opt for the NBADL is money. They go to Europe instead to chase the almighty Euro! [sarcasm] And, with todays exchange rate, who can blame 'em?! [/sarcasm] Seriously though, I hope the DL will eventually be used more by the players as I think it will benefit us, the fans. If it were used more, I think we'd see more talent in the NBA since the clubs wouldn't have to compete, salary wise, or wait until Euro contracts expire or buy them out.

Tucker on the bench
I'd really like to see a Minnesota style blowout again tonight, if only to maybe catch a glimpse of Alando Tucker in the last 6 minutes of the game.

When he was drafted, I remember some commenters referring to him as something of a poor man's Shawn Marion.  I'd like to see if this is anywhere in the ballpark as far as a talent assessment goes.

I wish he had Marion's hops

but I don't think so.

They best for Tucker is to channel Raja Bell's defense and play the 2.

No one has Marion's hops
but AT's got far more then Bell

zona
there is a picture I saw a few months ago showing AT's jumping ability, let's just saw his chest was at the rim!@

He does have that sort of jumping ability, different though, marion is quick, unsure of AT's quickness in jumping, but as far as pure vertical jumping, he's awesome.

wish I could find that image, it was a hgih quality pic!

Wow.
Apparently, Dicky V is a fan.  I've never seen that clip, but now I'd really like to see him strut his stuff.  Please, Suns, go up by 40 or so in the 1st quarter so we can finally have a Tucker sighting.
