D'Antoni Wants Starbury Gone
Shocking development, no? Does he think that Sarver and Kerr are that dumb?

Now we'll see how tough LB and Diaw are
They’re going to have to deal with trade rumors now all summer. It’s funny how we went from “the Suns roster is capped out and full of un-tradeable players” to “Kerr is going to gut the team” in 2 weeks.
No way Marbury comes back here for Diaw and Barbosa. Now, maybe one of those guys (I would guess Diaw) gets shipped out, but you would think Kerr will get good pieces back in return. We can hope for the draft pick, I suppose.
This team has a 2 year window, and despite the fact that they got bounced in the 1st round they didn’t suddenly turn into a lottery team. The Suns are still a formidable team (admittedly on the decline as opposed to the rise). This is the bright side isn’t it? A good hire as the coach and a little luck and/or cunning with personnel moves this summer and the party rolls on.

Considering
that the Suns traded Marion foe Shaq, yeah, he probably does think they are that dumb.

If...
we were in full blown rebuilding mode (which we arent) then I’d consider landing Starbury if, and only if, the trade included their first round pick. Even then losing both LB and Diaw would hardly help any rebuilding project.
Overall i’d have to say that the likelihood of that trade going down is about 1,000,000,000,000 to 1. Though I do think that either Diaw of LB might be moved this summer, but not both.

Zup Turumbar, long time no see man!
I have a feeling that LB and Diaw will not be traded. I mean if I was Kerr, i’d be hesitant on pulling the trigger, unless a really great deal comes along. I was frustraded with Barbosa’s performance but i’d give him one more season, same with Diaw. Maybe dealing with all these trade talks will make them work harder and be consistant. So I hope..

Same...
I’d also like to see how they both do under a different coach and a different system.

Coach D's guys
I will be curious how D’Antoni defends us next year, especially Boris and LB.

Defends?
Do you really think Coach D will be game planning something to defend the Suns? No, he will be game planning how to Attack the Suns!
The Knicks aren’t without talent and with just better rotations and minimal coaching they will score at a high rate.

I'll be watching the Knicks a bit more next year
That team played far worse than they should have. I’ll be very interested to see how much better they can be with Coach Mike. I suspect they’re going to be a surprise.

Suns talent is much better
So you are saying he will ignore what he knows about the tendencies of these players? And also, I have no doubt that a different coach will present a more defense-minded squad than what D’A presented. I think we have established that a D’Antoni-coached offense would destroy a D’Antoni-coached defense.
Otherwise we may as well have kept him.

Not quite sure what you are asking me, Hawk
I’m not at all saying that he’s going to try to turn the Knicks into Suns 2.0, just that I think Coach D will have a relative measure of success with that Knicks team, and that I think they are going to play better for D’Antoni than they did for Isiah.
When Shaq arrived he spent 2 weeks or so in the high post, as D’Antoni tried to shoehorn him into the existing schemes, and as we all saw, with poor result. Pretty quickly we saw3 Shaq back in the low post, and much more effective—this tells me that D’Antoni knows how and is willing to make adjustments to the players. Ditto with Diaw, when he arrived he was viewed as a back-up point, but when the staff saw what he could do in the front court they worked that in with great success.
And in terms of “we may as well have kept him”, I wish we had, but if one believes the interviews, it was pretty much D’Antoni’s decision to leave—he felt slighted, lost trust in Kerr/Sarver, and didn’t want to come back. I for one, am very hopeful we can spend the next few seasons posting about “Coach Horny”...

D'Antoni's Knicks
If Mike can get the Curry/Z-Bo tandem to be effective, he truly is a magician, and I take back all I ever said about him. Those two are coach destroyers. The Knicks do have the talent to surprise a team for a game here or there, but Mike is not going to get Jamal Crawford to become the second coming of Scottie Pippen.
Mike may be able to force Diaw or LB to do what they are not comfortable doing. And the Suns’ defense WILL be improved. My guess is that the Knicks will go hard for Diaw, and frankly, I don’t want to let him go. I have always said he is practically unguardable when he is playing the way he is capable. It’s up to the new coach to get that out of him, along with unlocking Amare’s all-around beast. I think Silas is the man.
Oh, by the way, Rick Carlisle is talking about running the doors off of people with Kidd, Terry, and Howard. Can a leopard change his spots?

Unlikely
Unless there’s more of a blow-it-up movement in the Suns front office than anyone is letting on, I do not see the Suns accepting Starbury back into the fold, regardless of the $20M windfall in cap space at the end of next season. Or, perhaps, I should say, I don’t see Steve Kerr making that move. Sarver, mmmmmaybe.
There would be full-on fan revolt. My hunch is it’s not happening. Of course, I said that about D’Antoni leaving, too.
