Rambis
is definitely more intriguing than MArk Jackson, i think. What’s his specialty, anyone know?

KURT RAMBIS HAS MY APPROVAL
especially if he wears the eye goggles while coaching, he was a tough player, maybe he can pass that onto Amare, Silas is my number one though, or the assistant from Boston.

I like it.
I’d be very OK with Kurt Rambis. I’d be afraid that this is a placeholder gig for him until he can get back to the Lakers. I don’t know what kind of X’s and O’s guy he is, but several years under Phil Jackson, 5 rings, and a down-and-dirty player reputation is a good enough resume for me.

Didn't he try to coach once?
With Shaw? On LA?
Yeah, that worked out well …
Is my memory off on this one?
Five rings? Well, I hear Horry is retiring at the end of the year. He’s got a bunch of rings, too. He’s “tough”—or at least pretends to be. He’s got the same credentials as Rambis. Once NO eliminates the Spurs, perhaps Kerr will interview Horry.
Mmmmm ... Guinness

EDIT
I lied. 4 rings. The recurring role on “7th Heaven” doesn’t do much for me, though.
And Horry hasn’t coached under Phil Jackson, so I fail to see the comparison there. As for the allegation that he “lost the team”, that doesn’t ring true either since the Lakers retained him as an assistant when Jackson became available.
24-13 as an interim head coach isn’t exactly failure either, though it did end in a playoff sweep by the Spurs. With a history like that, he was born to coach in Phoenix.

Rambis failed miserably in LA
Basically because Shaq and company didn’t have an ounce of respect for him, and he lost the team before he coached his first game. That was something like 10 years ago, though, so who can say if the Big Cactus might be a bit less prickly this time around.
On the other hand, he’s been a top assistant for PJax now for quite some time, I’m sure he’s soaked up quite a bit, but is it all triangle related?
