Marv Albert interviews for Suns Head Coach
Important news over the weekend was that along with the interviews given to Rockets Assistant Elston Turner, Maryvale High School Track Coach Bob Ubik, and several assistant store managers from the Starbucks on Mill, the Suns also interviewed TNT analyst Marv Albert. According to insiders, Marv appears to be the current frontrunner, at least until the next candidate is interviewed.
Marv joins a long list of Suns coaching hopefuls from the TNT booths, including NBA head coaching neophyte Mark Jackson. One intriguing candidate, Terry Bradshaw, hails from the FOX network, however.
"I've had a lot of good times with Marv and I would like to continue that," said TNT Homer and Suns GM Steve Kerr. "Many people forget that Marv actually has more NBA experience than most of the candidates we are interviewing."
"But what about NBA head coaching experience?" asked our source.
"What we really need is someone that will talk tough about defense and conduct longer practices. We have a veteran team, they know what to do." Kerr reasoned. "Besides, when I took over as the GM, my only experience was as a player and TNT analyst. And look how good I've done."
"You turned a title contender into a playoff hopeful, made several shocking trades for the worse and ran off the head coach," our source allegedly complained.
"Yeah. But I also brought Balls back into the NBA." said Kerr.
"May we call you a moron now, sir?"

I think he's 2-for-2
What about Simmons calling the Kurt Thomas trade one of the most lopsided in history? =)
2 first rounders…..

Forgot.
I didn’t remember that KT was on his watch. Still, “several” was laying it on a little thick.

okay - 100%
I think the report was tongue-in-cheek, so there may be a little hyperbole or lampoons in there.
Obviously, it’s hard to fault Kerr for making some of these trades as his hands tied, but hey, that’s the bizz.
He best move was to bring in Grant Hill, and in hard facts, Grant was also a gamble that gave us a false sense of security and didn’t pay off. Truth.

Great choice!
Marv was arrested and pleaded guilty to beating the hell out of his girlfriend because she wouldn’t go for a threesome. It never was explained if it was going to be two girls and a boy or two boys and a girl. Now he can have his threesome, Sarver, Kerr and Marv Albert. That would be carrying on the Kerr tradition in Phoenix.

Remember the back-biting...
Popovich has video of some similar things going on with David Stern. I mean, he must.

Krusty was interviewed also..

Kerr said that he had a good relationship with Krusty when working in TNT. Krusty has experience in TV and handeling Media. Also, a factor working for him, is that his hair looks way better than Mav Albert’s.

Marv would probably call every play...
and every pass… =)
“Nash bring it up out of backcourt, swing a pass to Bell outside the arc, look for Shaq….”

Suns will interview Terry Porter (2nd interview)
How do you like Terry Porter as head coach? He played point guard for the high-scoring Portland when Clyde glided. He was assistant to Flip Saunder for 2 seasons in Detroit (one of the best defensive teams).
