I just don't understand...
why nobody was suspended from the Hawks/Celtics series after an altercation in Game 4. It basically the same crap where guys jumped off the bench, but not only that no punishment for KG pushing a ref. I know the Celtics are Stern's mealticket out of the East come on now.
Now, they finally punished someone in the playoffs, in Darius Songailia, for barely slapping LeBron, after he was trying to free his hand. What's up with that? I swear, David Stern has got to go. There are more double standards in the NBA, than any other league. We need a fair commish, not a hypocrite/backstabber in David Stern.

Stern is looking more disreputable all the time
Not sure the owners care tho.

KG
KG has a good record, is a poster boy for the league, and if Stern had’ve suspended KG, he never would have been able to attend the home games of the NBA Finals in the Boston Garden…....

Huge KG Fan
But even I have to agree a suspension was in order. Probably something in the 2-3 game range.

KG
I don’t know about that, but Perkins and Williams should have been easy (see my post below or listen to the audio link)

What’s equally puzzling is how this seems to have (mostly) been swept under the carpet and forgotten. Even if this was ultimately the right decision a year too late, letting the players decide a series, the rose-tinted glasses are very peculiar.

Probably the right decision
So, why can’t the NBA just say “lesson learned, we’re sorry about last year.”?
Stubbornnes seems to be running rampant these days.

I’m a Spurs fan, but I totally agree about Stern. He shouldn’t have suspended the Suns players last year. That was BS and then to turn around and pull what he pulled this past week. Good grief….this guy needs to retire.

Why
This is why, ESPN is in Bristol an industrial city and township in west central Connecticut; pop. 60,062. Boston is not far from Bristol and everyone knows who ESPN bones.
Yup Pats, Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox.
ESPN is broadcasting many of the playoff games so what would happen if Superstar was out? You’d be Starless and to them thats bad TV right? Connect the dots.

Sad part is we’ll never know about last year.
It’s quite possible the Suns would have still lost that series, whereupon they could have made some changes in the offseason that they waited another few months to make.
SA’s title would have had more credibility, particularly if it happened through a Game 7 in Phoenix.
The NBA sweeps it under the rug through: 1. An overhyped great WC race this year
2. New teams emerging, thereby allowing Phoenix sympathizers to gain satisfaction through their own teams winning.
The more teams around the country get a shot at the title, the less significant Phoenix seems.
