I Heart Joe Alexander

A snippet from the new DraftExpress interview with Joe Alexander:

DraftExpress: What is the one thing you think you need to learn as a basketball player?

Alexander: The only thing you need to learn is how to win.

The whole interview is here

Needless to say, my man-crush is only growing. I mean, the guy slept in the gym for a semester, so he could practice more. And he can head butt the rim.

Good from afar...

I read that same interview. I like his energy. I didn’t see him play in college so I’m not familiar with his skill set. I do however have a whole lotta love for his attitude. I’m just afraid if we see him up close he might look quite as good. But that’s the 15th pick for ya.

Hit or miss

But the #15 can pay off (see Steve Nash). I kind of see Joe as Matt Harping with hops. The upside is huge. With hard work and the right coach, he could be similar to the Matrix. The worst he would be is like Harpring, which would not be bad.

I think the Suns...

should take a flyer and look at Bill Walker. I think while his stock is low right now, I think he has the most upside of any player outside of Rose and Beasley. He could be that steal at the end of the 1st round or 2nd round, that you normally see in almost every draft. His athletic ability is freakish, and is looking stronger after his knee surgery. Honestly, I think he would be worth reaching for at #15.
