3rd Greatest Dunk in Suns history.
It says a lot about the entertainment value (as opposed to, um, championship poise) of the Suns franchise that that only ranks at #3 in Suns dunks. Obviously, KJ-Olajuwon is #1, and I’d put Majerle-Manute at #2. I know that second one resulted in a charge against Dan Majerle, but he still dunked on Manute freakin’ Bol (love the part at the end of this clip where Majerle’s celebrating then looks back as he realizes an offensive foul has been called).
Agreed on the KJ dunk
That was over Olajuwan, after all.
Majerle, though? Bol’s no Olajuwon. And that wasn’t a charge. As I’m sure you’re aware, Bol slapped Majerle’s dunking arm—it should have been and-1.
Anyway, Chambers is #2 mainly because he kneed Jackson in the jaw. And the fact that the big white dude got some major air.
Mmmmm ... Guinness
Was a charge.
Or, at least, it was called a charge. One of the few instances in Suns history when I can say, “I was there.” Unless, I’m mis-remembering.
But I’ll definitely by the argument that Chambers is #2. And that was absolutely crazy air.
