The Prodigal Sun Begins to Wander
"Who's the bigger fool: the fool or the fool who follows him?"

In case you're not sure, Dan Fegan is the former and Shawn Marion is the latter.
In a shocking development, Shawn Marion has informed the Heat that he's going to play this year and cash his $17.8M paycheck. In an even less shocking response, rumors are already brewing that Shawn Marion's expiring contract will be traded next season.
Perhaps most disturbing is that Marion was looking for a three-year extension at $13M a year but Riley only wanted to give him $10M per year. Is this the same guy that thought he was getting 3 years at $20M per from the Suns? Or, was that just Marion trying to get the Suns to push him away? I suppose it could also be a big splash of cold water.
I said it here first. On February 12. Just saying ... Then, he started appearing on www.thedirty.com and hanging out with RackStar.
Every time I think about this whole turn of events, I get sicker and sicker.
I really need to stop thinking about this.

The only thing I fear is reports that the Lakers might pick him up.
If they can afford his salary and they pick him up for cheap spare parts, I will curse the NBA and die.
Wondering what the skip-2-my-loo to do next with my empty summer
If that happens...
Shawn Marion will be dead to me! DEAD.

Marion to the Lakers
The Lakers are capped out, just as the Suns are. The Lakers, though, do have an underachieving multi-skilled forward who vanishes at playoff time is currently serving out the tail end of a massively over-priced contract—Lamar Odom.
Odom played his best ball with D-Wade in Miami, and there are rumors that a Marion for Odom swap might happen. Odom disappeared in the finals this year and has lost his lustre here in LaLa land, and you know Riles would like to bring him back.
Marion a Laker?
WOW. think of that. Would that mean Marion would guard Amare? I for one, would pay to see that.

actually - so would I.
But I would hate to see Marion in the finals wearing a laker jersey….

Now I'm hearing Clippers
Talk about a fall from grace, from being one of the “big 3” in Phoenix on a title contender, to the Clippers in full rebuilding lottery mode. Rumors now that Riles covets Brand, would trade Marion + No. 2 pick for Brand + No. 7 pick. Shawn is going to hear this all year with that big, fat, expiring contract.
Not so bad for Clips
Clips could do worse than a front line of Marion, Beasley, and Kaman. with improvement from Thornton, and if Livingston came back strong, that would be a nice team.
On the other hand, a core of Wade, Brand, and Russell Westbrook/Joe Alexander could be intriguing.
Sounds like a win/win – both teams could be playoff contenders.
Not to mention keeping the Matrix from Laker-land.
