Scream'n A Smith Reporting: Porter Accepted Suns Job

Initial reports are reporting that there are reports of Porter accepting the Sun's job.

Sources: Porter To Coach Suns

Terry Porter will be the next coach of the Phoenix Suns, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith is reporting. Porter formerly coached the Bucks and was an assistant coach for the Pistons this season.

Stay tuned - I am sure if true there will be more information soon enough.

I think Kerrr made the best decision available

and I wish TP the best of luck. It will be a very interesting season for you guys next year.
We will be watching closely in Portland.

This might be...

Kerr’s first good decision as a GM. Yes Porter is not a sexy pick, but I think he can certainly be a damn good coach for this team. Now, let’s hope Kerr can strike gold with the #15 pick.

Go Porter!!!

Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen it. That is to say that it seemed obvious to me for the past two weeks that TP would become the coach.

Here’s to hoping that he can handle this team

Yes, Obvious........

Really, who else was in the running? Kerr wanted experience. Only Silas had head coaching experience of the “candidates” interviewed. And I doubt he was ever seriously considered, they had a phone interview.

Reminds me of a bar at 2 AM when they turn the lights on, you don’t have much to choose from, so you do the best you can so you don’t end up in bed alone.

I don’t think it makes a difference who coaches this team. Get ready for 50 wins and a first round exit. Sounds exciting.

It's the Arizona talking, really.

I miss those days

of 2am bar trolling and waking up the next morning in bed w/ a girl and her snake…but that’s another story for another time.

I don’t think Porter falls into this category. I think he’s a fine choice for the Suns and am looking forward to the new regime.

I'm Not Saying The Suns Went Hogging, but...

My point is that there really weren’t many viable options out there. I don’t have any reason to think he won’t be a decent coach, but I don’t hold too much hope for next year-and it has nothing to do with Terry Porter.

And I’m very bitter that the Lakers are in the finals…it’s amazing how quick they went from a crappy team to #1 in the West.

It's the Arizona talking, really.
