Goran hits the court!
Slovenia opened up today's Olympic qualifiers in Athens with an 88-76 victory over Korea.
Our boy Goran had 11 pts on 3-3 shooting (plus 1-1 3pt. and 4-4 FTs), 4 ast., 3 reb., 1 stl., and 1 TO.
I don't think he's starting though, so his minutes will be around this amount for most games, but he was apparently on the court during crunch time when Korea made their comeback. I think he's backing up or playing the 2 alongside their starting PG, Lakovic.
Let's hope Slovenia can keep this up. They're one of the favorites here and the top 3 teams get a spot in the Olympics. And if he makes the Olympics, we can watch him on TV!
Woo!

Rosewood the Goran stalker!
Thanks for the info man, sounds like he had a nice game. Can’t wait for this kid to play behind Nash.

Good news
phxsuns.net posted a Spanish article that pretty much stated that the Suns have pried away Dragic from Tau. Check it out

Come On Folks
Let’s get real about this guy. He’s second string on Slovenia. That hardly sounds like the second best point guard in the draft. I’m not willing to hitch my wagon to him just yet.

All right
let’s get real:
1) European clubs and especially national team have a long history of making younger player sit in favor of veterans.
2) The guy Dragic is backing up, Jaka Lakovic, is one of the better PGs in Europe (a two-time Greek league MVP), who will likely become the captain of the team after Rasho retires this summer.
3) Dragic still plays a lot of minutes. To say, he is a backup is probably incorrect. He’s more in a Barbosa role, though is game is much different. In last year’s Eurobasket, he was playing 25 minutes a game (they player 40 minutes games).
4) If by “hitching my wagon,” you mean i think the Suns may have found a decent role player, then I suppose I am hitched.

I'm with you rosewood
this kid looks good to great, brewdude…where you one of those other guys (not me) that booed Dan Majerle and Nash when the suns drafted them?
My normal strategy is hold off on either and wait and see, suns haven’t given draft players a chance in years….tell me if this makes sense….last draft pick (first round) we kept before this year was years ago…amare….and look what he is now…..yeah…I see your point, why would we be optimistic about anyone in the draft..
I’ll say it right now, this guy has ginobili skills, he has moves many nba players (guards) don’t.

Besides
Having 11 points, 3-3 shotting, 1-1 from the three point line, 4-4 FTs and 1 steal (coming off the bench) are great Stats ANYWHERE.
