Suns sign another hairtastic big man

In keeping with Sean Marks (curly golden locks), Brian Skinner (multi-colored chin hair) and Robin "LoFro" Lopez the Suns have added Lou Admonson to the not-yet-13-man-roster.

Lou did stand out for me in Vegas not only for his highly fashionable (or totally dorky) crown of the head pony-tail but also for for his hustle and energy. The guy has motor.

This signing leaves the Suns with Shaq, Amare, Diaw, Lopez and now Lou Amundson as their bigs. One has to wonder how that's going to turn out when Shaq is on the bench half the season.

A note on the roster

In Coro’s article he mentions the Suns have 12 players under contract now w/ this signing. I was curious about that and can’t find an “official” answer so here’s who I am assuming are the 12:

Barbosa, Barnes, Bell, Diaw, Hill, Lopez, Nash, Shaq, Stat, Strawberry and Tucker. And now Amundson. That’s 12.

But I haven’t heard anywhere that the Suns picked up the team option for DJ’s 2nd year yet. We was signed to a two year deal but only the 1st year was guaranteed.

Has anyone heard that the Suns picked up DJ’s option for this year? I am going to check my “sources”…
