The Sun Also Rises
I was reading this post and wondering. Is there a good article title inolving the sun rising or setting?
There is. Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises. Here's a wikipedia link, but let me give you a more accurate summary.
Jake is somehow mangled in WWI such that he can no longer have sex. My HS English teacher also said that "Jake" is code for "joke" because, well ... he can't. He's got a crush on this girl (in our world, the Larry O'Brien Tropy) -- I forget her name as I didn't read the wikipedia entry. Anyway, she's kind of a whorish, superficial bitch (like a reality show star, or Brenda Walsh). They are "friends" and she toys with his affection. He really wants her, but, you know, even if he could do "it" she'd still be who she is.
After trials and tribulations, they get back together (i.e., are still friends even though he wants more) and he resigns himself to being used and abused. Always close, but no cigar -- so to speak. He resigns himself to being close without ever touching, which is the best he can get. Resignation and the rising sun.
I'm way too depressed about our team for a Friday morning.

But those of us who did...
…recognize the Mr. Silvernail interpretation when we see it. Bravo, JSun, for making me get out my yearbook to remember who taught junior year English.

Mike, I would just like to say something:
Marcos De Niza TORCHED Brophy in the state soccer finals in 1992!
Yay!
Amare is moving.
BTW, JSun, I wanted to ask
Was Basketbawful making a threat in the legal sense of the word? Can we take action with them or do I just have to accept that you will be hunted down, murdered and by blissfully missing the ensuing suns carnage this season?
Amare is moving.
I don't know
I just figured a depressing Sun-Rising article would throw them for a loop.
If I go missing, avenge my death and kill Evil Ted.

A Picture Paints a Thousand Words
Honestly, that article (the Basketbawful one) was written by some guy whose predictions for the season were summed up with a picture of candy-colored hornet. What does that mean, exactly?
