Hope to set the table for a Cards victory with a Suns victory

Although I’m not convinced the team is ready. They really need to establish some rhythm. Hope Bosh doesn’t go for 42 and 13 like last year…

Dunks off a Nash assist, but useless in the low post without him.

Today’s is that they aren’t ready in the mornings for a game.

That doesn’t surprise me and I don’t need to watch the game to know that will happen. Hopefully Barnes and Stat can keep their cool and play through it.

Signing In

considering how I’m nocturnal and dont fall asleep until around 5am, the game starting at 12:30pm for me doesnt make it easy to catch the full game. Thankfully, while in my sleep, my brain said “GET UP, DUMBASS, THE GAME IS ON!” So I got up in time to catch the 2nd quarter. We’re looking good. Everyone seems to be playing well, even Amare :gasp:

It's working so far

I’d say keep it up. My main concern would be tired legs for tomorrow. But we desperately need this win. I’ll go with whatever is working for now and worry about the other game later. Guys seem to be having fun, don’t they?

"Basketball doesn't build character. It reveals it"

by PanamaSun on Jan 18, 2009 11:47 AM MST up reply actions

I would say so. It takes a tremendous amount of effort to score this many points and they are doing it very well, which would lead me to believe they’ve found something…………maybe they’re doing this on purpose. I like it, if that’s the case. Let’s run some teams off the floor.

Take care of the little things, and the big things will take care of themselves.

by SunDolphin on Jan 18, 2009 11:49 AM MST up reply actions

Yup

It doesn’t always work, but when it does we have to take advantage of it. Raptor’s transitions D is very poor today. If they make adjustments in the second half I’d slow down the game and give Shaq some touches. We got to post them up from time to time.

"Basketball doesn't build character. It reveals it"

Boston

has won 4 straight. Two against Toronot and two against Jersey. That’s weird.

Take care of the little things, and the big things will take care of themselves.

by SunDolphin on Jan 18, 2009 11:55 AM MST reply actions

Suns running the O

doing a great job passing up quick open 3’s to work the ball inside or break down the Raps poor wing defenders and create open looks. Patience and solid mental effort.

Refs quick whistles helped drive up the score.

Shaq almost had monster highlight after catching Barnes fly pattern long pass in open court dribbled and went for monster slam but Graham streaked in and fouled him first. That would have been something.

Sorry guys for no proper game preview on this one. Just too much stuff going on this weekend.

by Seth Pollack on Jan 18, 2009 11:57 AM MST reply actions

Zone D

working well for Suns also. W/ Bargnani on the floor they go to more of a 3 – 2 look to keep someone on him at all times but without him the 2 – 3 has been effective as well.

by Seth Pollack on Jan 18, 2009 11:58 AM MST up reply actions

Ha, don’t worry about the pregame, it’s only the Raptors.

And I am really surprised by the pace of this game. I think the shock is wearing off and with the nice lead I feel real good about it. I hope we come out and storm them in the 2nd half.

Take care of the little things, and the big things will take care of themselves.

by SunDolphin on Jan 18, 2009 12:17 PM MST reply actions

the thing about Nash and his assists numbers

Nash could get a big number of assists with each game. But it only counts as an assist if the other players make the shots. Nash looks like he’s having suc a great game because everyone else is knocking them down for a change. Although Nash IS having a great game cause he’s not being sloppy with the ball too. Good job! I wondered if that MVP player already retired and whats left is just an old school baller.

by SunDolphin on Jan 18, 2009 12:26 PM MST up reply actions

you got it backwards

how good would Marion be with Bosh. Bosh will draw the double and Marion’s the type of dude that’s too versatile to ever double off of. As long as their guards can drain shots, and Marion hasthe freedom to basically roam the court and attack any opening, he’s set. Thats what makes him great. Thats what made US so great when he was here. With Amare playing his best ball, and our backcourt having hot hands, Marion was just untouchable.

Personally, I’m done thinking Stat can be the Man, and view him only as a scorer. If he gives me anything else (10 boards, 5 assists, a steal or two, a few blocks) then it’ll be like finding twenty dollars in your pocket you didn’t know you had.

Let’s go Cards. Nothing like jumping on my home state team’s band wagon!

Take care of the little things, and the big things will take care of themselves.

Nash was just Brilliant

Has someone ever dominated a game with only 9 points?

Exactly my thought!

Credit to his team mates though for playing smarter ball. Not rushing shots and moving without the ball and then finishing on those Nash passes.

But he was awesome even though he missed two wide open 3’s to seal the game. Get’s the rim and finishes. Great stuff.

Amare btw played much harder in the 2nd half. Maybe Porter got in his face during the half.

Cards up 7-0 early btw. What a day. I CAN NOT believe the Cards could get to the super bowl. I simply can not believe it.
