Amare trade idea

Whatup Suns fans? I'm not too sure how serious folks are about trading Amare but I havean idea that I think might work for both teams. Here it goes:

Amare and Leandro for David West and Peja Stojackovic and a first and/or Julian Wright.

If the Suns are serious, I think this is a pretty valuable package of vets and a good prospect. David West is a 20 point a game  scorer and Peja is still one of the best three point shooters. Financially this deal also makes sense because D West's contract gets smaller  every year. I think Nash has really been affected by the lack of two three point shooters on the court at a time. I love Grant Hill but he doesn't  spread the floor as well as a sniper like Peja would. Julian Wright hasn't been getting alot of playing time this year, but I think he would give you a super athletic stopper and energy guy. If you wanted the contracts to match we could throw in a second and get Duflye in return. Also, David West is much more used to 2nd banana status then Amare. His game is predicated on the high post game. Amare has a sweet jumper, but I don't think he is really used to relying on catch and shoot oppurtunities from Shaq. He has never really had to share the post with another big, and its tough for him to get comfortable in that role. David is much more used to operating in open spaces and merely taking with the defense gives him. He doesn't need to dominate the ball to be effective.

The deal obviously works for the Hornets. We get one of the best low post scorers in the game and an excellent instant offense 6th man which we really need. I love David, but Amare is more efficient, and having him would both force us to pick up our pace (which is when we are most effective) and allow  CP to defer more, which is the role in he is most comfortable and effectivein. Losing Peja would also force us to start Posey which will help us defensively. We'd have two big defensive wings who can shoot the three, and Leandro would get about 30 minutes of the bench.

Thoughts?

Wow

That’s a pretty solid deal right there….I would throw in Matt Barnes as well. I am sick of his act and he would deepen your bench and we already have too many small forwards.

The big problem for the Suns though is we would have no back up PG at all. LB can at least pretend to be a backup PG now.

Might be the best idea I’ve seen so far though. I think West is a great fit for the Suns and Peja and Hill at the 3 is a solid rotation.

How about just Amare for West and Hilton Armstrong? Otherwise a 3rd team would need to be in the deal so we get a PG.

would new orleans do this?

i know it would be a steal for them and a chance for us to start over, which is good but would they want to risk chemistry? west is a class guy, amare is not.

I'd do that in a heartbeat

But we’d need another contract or two from our side to make the deal work, and I’m not sure if you guys have the slots. Not really a big deal though, and they could figure it out. Also, we really need a reliable bench, but I see your point about the backup pg issue. Maybe we could three way trade Juju for Sessions, Diener or Lue. I think we can get some value for him.

Why bother?

Seriously. Do you think messing with the team even more at this point will make a difference. We have changed out too much too soon and have not allowed the team enough time to gel. I mean its only been what, 1 month since the Bell/Diwow/JRich deal. Give it up. Not every trade will have immediate positive affects like the Gasol deal last year. Wait another month and see what happens.
