BATTLE CRY "REMEBER THE KNICKS '99!!"

I think we all can agree that the Suns do look very lost and  unispired right now. They are definately a team that many aren't expecting to go very far if we do even make the playoffs. Well fellow Suns fans, I want you to focus your attention on a team that was in even more disarray than our squad; the New York Knicks of the '99 season. I say the '99 season because it was the strike shorten season and all the games were played that season and none in 1998. That Knicks team had a mixture of savy vets and some very raw young talent, but were able to put together one of the most improvable runs to the finals ever. Now once there they did lose to the most hated San Antonio Spurs in what was the Spurs first title in Tim Duncans second year in the league, but that's more of a side note. They were an eighth seed that UPSET the top seeded Miami Heat, then they went on to upset the Atlanta Hawks and the Indiana Pacers. The point I want  to convey is, just get to the playoffs by any means possible. Once there anything can and will happen. I know it would be against the hated Lakers or the Spurs most likely as a first round draw, but like Rick Flair used to say..." In order to be the best you have got to BEAT the best". If the lowly Knicks whick no one gave a chance to could shock the world, well then why not us.

hey now
improvable runs

there was only one way to make it better. but if that were a full season the knicks probably would not have been an eight seed. in any case – you are right, the suns have plenty of great pieces it’s just a matter of whether they can put it together in time or not. plenty of teams have imploded and it’s almost not a surprise when a team does fold. the mavericks vs. warriors is a fresh example.

yeah great pt

but what didn’t shock me about Dallas losing to Golden State was the fact that Golden State

CONT

fact that Golden State OWNED Dallas the whole regular season that years. Funny how Dallas was kicking everybody butts to the sum of 67 wins, but a 40 something win Warriors team gave them MATCHUP NIGHTMARES

truuuue

but this is all moot. cus the suns are not gonna be in the playoffs this year. and the knicks will be, perhaps as an eighth seed. maybe everyone should be a (lifelong) knick fan. like me.

haha.

i thought “improvable” was just a typo for “improbable”. not, you know, to make one of the most able to be improved runs to the finals ever.

anythings possible

but your just setting yourself up for disappointment dude. you think this team has a shot of being the 99 knicks but thats highly unlikely.

yeah Ryan believe me I know

but I’m trying to rally the troops….yeah a run like those Knicks had is HIGHLY unlikely but not improbable…I mean the Knicks were without one of their top players that season in Pat Ewing….all I’m saying is just make the playoffs, there are so many other variables like injuries (look at Bynum in LA) and teams to self destruct as other teams put it together

i guess your right, anything is possible

but dude, i think im more likely to win the lottery. to make the playoffs, boozer has to stay injured so we can steal the jazz’s spot. then lets say bynum never returns and kobe breaks his leg in the 1st game. we win the series, then we match up agains the nuggets in the 2nd round. then chauncey breaks his leg in the 1st game. then we match up against the spurs in the conference finals. and tim duncan and tony parker bang against each other and each break a leg. then we go to the finals lets say against the cavs. then LBJ breaks his leg too. viola.

suns ‘08-’09 nba champions. ;)

im not trying to be sarcastic, i do get your point ron, maybe its the pessimist in me. if anything, i sure hope your right, that the suns have a bigger chance than i actually think they have. after all, i am a phoenix suns fan.

Come on now

Dude the ARIZONA CARDINALS (one of the worst football franchises outside of Detroit) came within 2 minutes of winning the Super Bowl….ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE…positivity breeds positivity…I mean I sure as hell wouldn’t have expected that 6 weeks ago…but your whole post season scenario was really funny….

I hope the Suns will be like the Knicks, I believe they can accomplish the task, we’ve just not been playing our best so far. We’re coming to a winning streak soon!

The only Suns fan from Boston!
