Post game audio - Suns confusion reigns
Here's the full audio from Nash, Amare, Grant, Pony Boy and a few Pacers including Granger to close it out. Again.
Two things stand out in listening to this:
1) Nash talked about confusion before the ball came in. Someone (my guess after watching the replay 12 times is JRich) called an audible and confused the Suns defense. Not good. Porter had established a plan that someone messed up.
2) While Nash and Grant talk about fixing the problem and acknowledging a Suns screw up, Amare talks about Granger hitting a contested (huh?) three and says "happy birthday".
Granger deserves tons of credit for the shot but you have to admit your mistakes if you are going to improve. Even Granger sounded shocked to be that open.

we need and amare moron meter
this would add a point in the moron direction for him, we’d need the meter to be big – so it could hold all his ejections for fighting over nothing
at least hill and nash see it straight, still, nash shouldn’t have been in there
Wow, Amare. Way to make another excuse.
Seriously….we traded the wrong guy. Amare’s value as an offensive player has gone way down now that we’re Shaq-centric, his rebounding is down, his blocks are below his career avg.
Meanwhile, if it WAS J-Rich who screwed it up, that’s twice now. I feel bad for anyone who believed Kerr when he said Rich was an “excellent” defensive player, when he’s resoundingly below average. And we saw what happens when he tries to create his own shot off the dribble…
Can we add a couple moron points to the Kerr meter?
Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."
Even if it wasn't J-Rich..
Kerr deserves at least 1 moron pt for…
A. Our DEFENSE, which was supposed to be one of the main focuses this season, giving up another game winning shot.
B. Losing an easy game at home with Shaq out of the lineup because of injury. We knew that Shaq would never play a full season before we traded for him.. we just didn’t know that without him we would look so bad.
Also, when we got the offensive rebound at the end of the game, were we out of timeouts??.. Please say yes.
No
Porter was calling for time out but JRich took the shot.
I am actually ok w/ that shot. He’d been shooting well and he had a clean look. He was aggressive and pulled the trigger. He makes it and he’s the hero. I can live with the miss as did Porter in his post game presser (which I saw on TV).
I find it really really hard to second guess split second decisions like that. The difference between JRich and Dragic’s of the world is the confidence to take that shot. Well, there are a few other differences as well but you get the point.

Up to ZonaFlash
he covered this game (very well I might add) so I will leave the award or non-awarding of a Genius or Moron Point for this game to him.

Moron Meters
While we’re at it, I feel that we should have little moron meters for all the players and the coach….. I personally feel that LB played good basketball in the end, that gave us our only lead of the game…. and harsh as this may sound, Nash needs to get a moron point for not looking for his own shot early on……!!! He clearly was the guy with the least amount of rust, once he started taking over in the second half
alot of amare hate on here
how bout we give you josh howard and we will take him off your hands?! ha i wish
anyway, from a mavs fan to suns fans… keep up the mediocrity (we will too)

Btw - Amare
on this final play was guarding the ball (passer out of bounds).
Consider that a likely play w/ .9 seconds is something going to the rim for an alley oop or tip in. Like Vince Carter did earlier this season.
Wouldn’t it make sense then that your most athletic big be on the floor to protect the paint and you put a small forward or two guard on the ball?
What does it say that Amare wasn’t trusted to be out on the court for that play? I think you know the answer.

Ouch
If ’A’m’a’r’e’ (a sign of my growing distrust and distaste by use of the sarcastic apostrophe) isn’t trusted to play defense for .9 seconds, what can he be trusted to do? Maybe he’ll get benched. It would be the best thing in the world for a young ego like his, and could get an internship in the video department or something.
Take care of the little things, and the big things will take care of themselves.
Nash.....
Nash had a good game last night, but I feel like he isn’t looking to shoot the ball enough. I think he would draw more attention to himself and open more passing lanes. His high point game for the season is 26.. When Shaq is out Amare and Nash need to put the team on their back and get it done. I mean the Pacers should not be a problem, but when you turn it over 17 times you are going to struggle. Amare and Nash had 9 of them….This game is more evidence that Shaq is the leader of this team.
