Lopez and Dragic - Rookie exploration
Great discussion of the Suns rookies.
I can't help but be reminded by Danny Granger breaking out after a few years, the most players don't have good rookie seasons. There are far more examples of guys taking a few years to develop then guys having an impact in their first season. Far more.

A long winded comment:
I totally agree with what was said about Lopez. He should be getting the minutes. Probably he isn’t playing well (he started the season doing well for a rookie, I thought, and has shown some flashes of greatness) because he’s rusted up like an old bicycle. I have the firmest faith that Robin will become, not just a good or servicable NBA player, but a guy who can dominate at center in this league. Hell, look at that position and who is out there? Shaq’s career is setting, Duncan will be at that point in a year or two or three, and then you have Bynum and Howard. I don’t see anything from Oden that we can’t get from Lopez.
But Dragic, to me, is the mystery. He’s a rookie and obviously can’t spell Nash, but that’s not my concern. My big worry is who will fill the void when Nash, whose career is setting, finally retires or opts to go to New York. Can Dragic be that guy? I’ve said before I don’t know that much about basketball, but it’s totally apparent he’s lost on the court at times, and that’s when I even get to watch him play.
The thing that keeps me sane is knowing that he doesn’t have to be Steve Nash. He doesn’t have to do the things Steve Nash does. When Nash is gone, and if Dragic is ready, we could become the half court team we need to be to win championships, instead of the Show Time team without the Prime TIme spot we’ve been.
Take care of the little things, and the big things will take care of themselves.
