Clark has almost as many minutes as Hill, and 6 more minutes than Frye. Get Frye back in and Hill, wow.

We're also not doing well on Points in the Paint...

yet we’ve still got 53 points on the board. Imagine how scary our offense will be once we’re firing on all cylinders.

That can be deceptive because of starters sitting out, but I love it.

Hill’s -14 isn’t Hill’s fault. It would have been -32 if he wasn’t out there doing his stuff.

Nash?

I’ve always seen Nash as a guy that is afraid to set screens although he does take charges…he does more of a pretend “slip” screen type of thing in my eyes. I think Dudley would be perfect for a good screen setter.

hmm weird

I’ll take a closer look but I guarantee you’ll see some really weak screens from Nash. We shall see.

40% is the mark of a good outside guy

Excellent Point.

I’m worried though that we’ll see a lot more dual-7’ lineups against the Suns this season to help protect teams from Frye’s outside touch as well as to exploit the size disadvantage.

I like the block, but I think it was just as important

that Channing ran the floor. I just hope he isn’t disheartened by the fact that Barbosa won’t ever pass in that situation. Ever.

by Max Simbron on Oct 28, 2009 10:56 PM MDT reply actions

that's not the point. he just won't regardless of the matchup

and that sinks into the players. Ok think about it this way… if you ran the floor with Steve, and can get a seam, you know you’re getting it.

But with Leandro? Good luck. So what would you do? Would you really run that hard next time? Maybe. And what if he doesn’t pass it to you. Again. After a while, you get it. He just doesn’t do that. So why run?

Trust me, I’ve seen it first hand. Players change when Nash is on the floor. You work your ass off because you know one simple thing: If you can get yourself open, he will find you.

by Max Simbron on Oct 28, 2009 10:59 PM MDT up reply actions

I’m not the biggest Amare fan in the world – in fact, I pretty much hate him – but considering he’s been out so long, he showed some nice touches. Give him time and he’ll get better.

More of an issue is that on the opening game against the Clips we need Nash to bail us out. He does that even half the season and we’re screwed.

Box score

Recap coming later but just quick peak at the box score:

Dudley with only 1 steal. He was robbed

Amare and Frye 9 rebounds. Hill 13 and Dudley 7. SMH

Clark w/ 20 min and Amundson only 10. I think that has to so w/ Lou’s sore foot. He rolled it recently. They are calling it an ankle but he said it was the side of his foot that hurts when he tries to move laterally

56% FG for the Clips. Not going to get it done and only 2 fast break points….

Amare did some nice things like get to the line for 10 FTA’s and not screw up late game switches but it’s going to be struggle if that’s all he can bring

Suns only 19 total assists while Clips had 27. This team has a way’s to go

are you kidding me stan??

I’d have thought you’d lead with the header : Suns Outrebound Another Team!!!

for the record, we out rebounded them by 1 and only gave up 7 offensive boards while nabbing 10 ourselves.

I don’t care if they are the clippers, they’re bigger than us and marcus camby is a rebounding fiend…

congrats all round and I look forward to the recap..

Nice Job Suns

while the Clippers are 0-2, I honestly believe they’re a good team and this is a good win for Phoenix. Steve Nash remains fun to watch and makes clutch plays while Grant Hill continues to excel whenever he’s healthy. The season is obviously one game old, but Phoenix is off on the right foot and it’s interesting to see where they’ll end up.
