I think we can play even better – we did a lot of things right on both ends of the floor, but the funny thing is I don’t even think we’re running yet. So once we get to that where we’re just up and down and going like we normally do, we’ll be pretty good.

This line in the latimes.com article stuck out to me…

Jackson called their wide-open offense an offshoot of “schoolyard basketball,” but there’s no denying that the Suns are 8-1.

I don’t don’t know whether to be offended.. or just laugh in his face?

He has...

never given us respect I’m not sure he respect any team. I’m not even sure in most games he’s even awake.

haha true

but as much as I hate the Lakers, there is no denying the fact that Phil is one of, if not the most prolific NBA head coaches of all time.

Forgot to say.

If I coached Kobe / Shaq / MJ (and the bulls winning team) I mean sheesh. I’d be great too.

Great coaches/players

Every great coach has been blessed with great players. Pop has had Duncan, Robinson, Parker and Ginobili. Phil has had Shaq, Kobe and MJ. Red Auerbach had… well, one of his rosters boasted 11 future Hall of Famers. It is what it is.

True. He has had great talent.

If he had been coaching the Clippers all those years he wouldnn’t have won one single title. But give him credit and foresight for finding good situations. With Chicago, I’m not sure anyone could have seen that coming, despite the close playoff loses to Detroit for all those years. Jackson was smart enough to only except jobs where he knew he had enough talent to win. Some coaches would jump at their first opportunity and you know, just accept their fate.

FYI

I used the term “Prolific” because it does suggest success/results – not necessarily talent or being the best.

That's absurd

The Suns aren’t getting wide open looks in the half court by playing school yard basketball and they certainly aren’t in the positive on rebounding by playing pick up game ball.

He must have us confused with the Warriors

Or maybe...

he is just jealous. Because his has to watch boring triangle basketball… for the past how many years?

This is gamesmanship by Jackson

He always does this kind of thing. It is his attempt to get under the skin of his opponent. I think he believes that if he gets them angry and thinking about his comments then they aren’t focused on executing their gameplan. He may think it takes us out of our game. In some cases he may be right, but not here.

the lakers will get some early tests in PHX and denver?

how about the suns, getting some early tests in miami, orlando, boston, and philadelphia?

washington has the personnel to be a good playoff team, but they were banged up when we played them. and new orleans will probably be a playoff team, i just don’t know how long this coaching/absolute lack of chemistry thing will take to turn around.
