Is Amare the problem?
Before the season started I think few people expected a very hopeful beginning. What is the problem? The main problem is that people start to want unreasonable goals. At first people were happy with achieving the PO. However, after a 10-2 people believe that we can compete against the best teams and when the first unexpected defeat comes we came down and begin the criticism.
One of the major problems of the Suns for long time has been the lack of rebound. What can we do? The answer is simple: signing a specialist. But who? And by whom?
One name comes to my mind, Noah. He isn’t only a good rebounder, he is in one way or another a complete player; no a great player, no a superstar, but a complete player. He can run, score, rebound, defend ....
Whom do we place on the other side of the scale?
If we want to make a trade this player must to be Amare.
Let’s see the statistics:

What is more important: to score or rebound? I think rebounding is more important because there are many scorers on the team but not good rebounders.
Moreover Noah could play center while Frye would play power forward, which is his more natural position. Noah can defend big men better than Frye.
I talk about defense because defense is one of the main factors for a contender team; of course, also the talent, chemistry, etc.. are.
Celtics, Spurs and even Lakers can score 85-90 points in a game and win. The Suns NO. That's because a good defense.
Damn, I'm extending more than I thought. Well, I finish.
Why the Bulls would want Amare if they already have Noah? I don’t know, but you can put any other name where I wrote Noah.

But how do we match the contracts?
Now I didn’t try that hard, but here’s one of the only trades I could come up with, and there’s no possible way the Bulls would bite on it: Amare & Tucker for Noah, B. Miller & J. Johnson
I have always liked Noah, but I’m not sure that this trade would solve our rebounding woes necessarily. I think that having our bigs box out with our wings slashing in for boards is a viable option, and the only real option we’ve got with this lineup. Adding one dominant rebounder won’t help if he is lured away from the post.

before last night's game
we were 10th in the league in rebounding differential at +2.10

This is how we ended up with Shaq
Thinking this way just doesn’t work.

Amare for Noah?
You have to be kidding. If Amare finishes his career on a high note, he will be Hall of Fame material. Can you say that about Noah? How many All Star teams has Noah made? The Suns were making strides in the rebounding department until the last game with NO. Perhaps that game will get the team rebounding again. The Suns have no one good rebounder in the starting lineup. They must do this task by committee. When a team scores 38 points off 25 offensive rebounds, you will lose to that team.

noah is also only in his third year.
he’s playing pretty darn well this year too.
though, i agree. trading amare for noah would send the suns into another self-inflicted slump. another missed playoffs, courtesy of panicking about things we shouldn’t have worried about.

I’m not worried about a loss, I don’t know if other fans are. It’s clear since the end of last season that this and the following seasons would be transitional. The GM and the owner didn’t want to do a rebuild and have opted for a smooth transition.
The statistics don’t always show the reality of things. The Suns have been outrebounded in 6 games; The Suns have outrebounded other teams in 7 games, in 2 of those games for only 1 rebound
Sacq’s trade was a mistake, the same mistake the Cavs have made this season.
I didn’t match the contracts because the intention is not to propose a trade, simply is a reflection. To make a championship team requires more than one change.
I like Stat, but we all know what is his limit.

Amare
At his best Amare is an “and one” machine, and inside scorer extrodinaire. Noah is another great hustle guy in the line of a more athletic Lightning Lou or Dudley without the ball handling ability. Noah did win the NCAA championship, he can be a great contributing role player part, Superstar he will never be.

The Kings have Udoka on a cheap contracy
For you guys he’d fit nice

What?
I like Noah, but come one. Amar’e’s game is just going to get better this year as he continues to improve and get back to his old self. There’s evidence to suggest he will, based on his play thus far. And, the team will continue to play improve and play better. There’s great chemistry here, and I wouldn’t screw that up at this point. Let’s see how far we can go this year before making any more changes.

P.S.
Amar’e is definately not the problem. Right now, there is no problem. The team’s 11-3 and tied with Orlando and Atlanta for the best record in the league. We’ll see if they can keep this up, but right now I don’t think any one particular person is the problem. If we’re going to win, we’re going to win as a team. The losses have certainly shown that as well. The one problem we may have is age when we play back to back games. But if Dudley continues to play well off the bench, and Dragic continues to improve, that might be as much of an issue. Oh, and obviously we’ll have a tough time with the larger front courts of the league like LA and Portland.

wrong-o!
We DO have a problem. A small problem. Tiny even. we still don’t have a first round pick in 2010.
I know. 100 years away. Not much of a problem. But you opened the door.
Also, this team is dominated by U of A guys. Frye. Kerr. Sarver. In fact, I have good intelligence that the reason Kerr didn’t hold out for Cleveland’s pick is that he sdidn’t want to draft Jeff Pendergraph, a Sun Devil.
So how’s that for opening up a can of worms?

Dominated by UofA
I can’t say Frye is one of the guys “dominating” our team. Frye and dominating don’t really go together. Kerr and Sarver yeah they are the managers. Both have flaws. Maybe Kerr didn’t want Pendergraph not only because he’s a Sun Devil but because he felt his talent wouldn’t mesh with the team.

I don't know what you're talking about...
I’m talking about right now, and the topic was primarily about Amar’e or any problems in the current situation. The PRESENT moment. I do agree we have areas that can be improved. But we’re a good team. Darn better than anyone thought we would be at this point. And I think people forget that.
Are we capable of winning it all? Who knows? Maybe yes, maybe no. It’ll be really tough against large front court teams like the Lakers. But, maybe we’ll get lucky in the draw and someone else can take out the Lakers. Someone else that we can match up better against. And so far, I’m excited as heck with the way we’re playing. And so are a lot of people.
I am concerned with our upcoming schedule in December. I think that month will tell a lot about how good we really are. As far as addressing our draft situation, a lot can happen between now and 2010.

He can be serious
I think realistically Kurt Thomas would be good hes a solid rebounder..Marcus Camby maybe harder to get he rebounds well Sean Williams(Nets) he provides interior defense but is a wierdo…There are options I think we shouldnt trade Amare..But in order to compete we need toughness in the middle..I wonder if we have one of the best records in the league around allstar break will we make a move..

We would want Amare because we desperately lack a scoring big man.
And as a die hard bulls fan, I can tell you his stats are inflated because of the lack of rebounding we have at the 4 position. Also you should have seen what Greg Oden did to us two nights ago. Be thankful you have stat, who may not grab all the boards, but from what I’ve seen he boxes out pretty well.

Trading Amare
You only trade him is the team is falling apart at the trade deadline AND he has made it clear he will not re-sign. But even then, you have to weigh the offers vs the prospect of having $17 million of cap space to play with at the end of the season.
This is the decision Kerr made on Shaq. He felt getting rid of the Big Disruptor was more important than getting the cap space at the end of the ’10 season.

Trade Amare
He has had lots of injuries. If someone made an Isiah Thomas like offer to take him off our hands, I think we should do it or if they make a godfather offer that we can not refuse. Other than that keep im.
