Exhibit A on Complacency
Haven’t been watching the game, but the Bobcats have led by as much as 24 and are currently up 11 on the Cavliers with 7 minutes to go.
I’d rather not see that happen in Minny tonight.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
i watched that game
Charlotte led 90-75 with 9 minutes left and didn’t hit a single field goal for about 8 minutes of game time and the LeBrons couldn’t even get closer than 5 or 6 points. Ridiculously pathetic effort

Is this game on local tv or what?

It was SUPPOSED to be ESPN
But they bumped it for the OKC-MIL match-up. Can’t say I blame them. I had no idea why they thought this game would warrant national coverage back when they announced the NBA schedule.

Amare
with 2 quick fouls….
This is something we haven’t seen much this year….Al Jefferson has always gotten the best of Stat, it seems
No STAT, no problem
Wolves promptly go to Jefferson with Amar’e on the bench and he gets swatted by Channing Frye.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
Jonny Flynn is 31% from behind the arc this season
I’m OK with the Suns giving him that shot.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
Did I hear correctly
That Lopez is available tonight to play? Will be interesting to see how he fits in to the new system
will likely see soon
as Lou and Stat both with 2 fouls half-way through the first

Looks like we'll see him soon
2 fouls each on Amar’e and Lou with over 5 minutes left to go in the 1st. This game is going to get interesting.

RoLo on the board already!
On a hell of a dish by Nash.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
Sweet Jesus!
What the hell happened to Robin Lopez?! Lay-up, defensive rebound, offensive rebound and spin move with a hook all in about 20 seconds.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
YES !!
That’s what we need from Lopez !!
I’m excited — I don’t want to get my hopes up too much though…
Robin Lopez will not go gently back to the bench.
He’s oozing effort out there.

OK, problems
Now… 2 fouls each on Lou, Amar’e and Lopez. It’s like the Suns are spotting the Wolves 3 players.

I'd like to firmly second that.....
That’s a look we don’t have except for from Robin.

Hey!
I missed almost all of the first, but man, Lopez is for real, no? I hope he can keep this up. Makes me feel good that the two rookies I lived and died with last year are both showing signs of big things to come. Paid off for me to never doubt them. : P I’ll stop gloating now.
Also, what was all that about rebounding again? And what was all that about complacency?
Fanaticism is not logical
Lopez: You can only hope to contain him, apparently
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
I still think his only problem is with fouls.
If he doesn’t foul out, he’s gonna get to showcase some awesome ability. If he starts fouling early, he can’t do anything.
Fanaticism is not logical
From the getting ahead of myself files...
Nash on pace for a triple double… 7 pts, 5 assists and 3 rebounds in his first 10 minutes of play.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
hopefully he wont play enough minutes
for him to get the triple double

got an early game on Sunday
so i would love to be ahead by 30 at the start of the fourth, so that Nash can get some rest….
by ArizonaCactus on Nov 27, 2009 8:21 PM MST up reply actions
That would only be 30 minutes
He usually doesn’t play less than that, even in blowouts.

Your team really looks weird without Steve Nash in the game.
No offense.
Same as the above Devil, here after seeing the Raptors game. Bosh got dunked on HARD, you might want to check up on that guys, I’m led to believe you like good offense here in Phoenix ;)
So, what’s going to happen with your game? Looks good so far right?
- Dirk van Boxtel, the wandering Celtic fan.
@DaarisDirk
Bosh on a poster...disgusting
Although Pierce kneeing him was pretty dirty, but Raps didn’t do anything, the coaches were furious. Soft…
If Nash was there, he would’ve jawed with Pierce
by azmanian_devil on Nov 27, 2009 8:23 PM MST up reply actions
Bosh just sat and sobbed
- I agree it was a dirty play -
… but really :’) harhar.
- Dirk van Boxtel, the wandering Celtic fan.
@DaarisDirk
Hard to fault Bosh for going down
He took a SHOT to the groin, without which, Pierce does not get that dunk so easily
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
Making the dunk had nothing to do with the groinshot.
It was a foul play, it was wrong, but it also was a great dunk.
- Dirk van Boxtel, the wandering Celtic fan.
@DaarisDirk
My only problem with it
Was that none of the Raptors took offence to that. I was pissed off coz Bosh is on my fantasy team…they play with the guy each day, someone should’ve been like Yo Pierce, that ***t ain’t cool…
by azmanian_devil on Nov 27, 2009 8:33 PM MST up reply actions
Very true, they just let him be...
That was quite weak, yeh.
- Dirk van Boxtel, the wandering Celtic fan.
@DaarisDirk
I'm just saying...
A dunk in which you kick a guy in the nuts is not nearly as badass as one in which you don’t.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
actually...
when nash dunks on kobe, i prefer that he kicks him in the balls. on the way down of course…

You know what?
I’d love to see the C’s win it all (d’oh) but second to that… gimme the suns winning it all. I love this squad. Frye is impressive this season, Nash is his awesome self again, Barbosa is ridiculous in transition, I hate to say “Stat is being Stat”, but he is… etc.
Anyway, how do you guys think your chances are against the Lakers, Spurs and/or any other top teams in a best of 7?
- Dirk van Boxtel, the wandering Celtic fan.
@DaarisDirk
We'll find out this month
Suns have had it easy so far. They play the WC elite in several games in December. Reserving judgment until then
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
Fair enough.
What do you think will decide whether you win/lose? What will be the biggest factor? D?
- Dirk van Boxtel, the wandering Celtic fan.
@DaarisDirk
Interior D
Andrew Bynum and Dwight Howard tore the Suns up. If some combination of Lopez, Collins and Frye can slow down (I wouldn’t be so bold as to say “stop”) the better big men in the league, then the Suns can make some noise.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
Well played.
I’ll take the increased ball movement and reliance on team D over… whatever it is Shaq is bringing to the table this season.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
That's not to knock Shaq too much
It’s just that I think the whatever they lost in his presence has been more than compensated for in other areas, especially on the offensive end where the lane is now fair game for Nash and his slashers.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
But really
It doesn’t seem we’ve lost anything. Especially if Frye can contribute huge. Our defense has seemed to improved, anyway. Our inside game isn’t awesome but it hasn’t exactly taken a step back, has it?
Fanaticism is not logical
That's alright.
You’re allowed to hack-a-Shaq, the entire league does it.
Also, I think he lost a lot of what he was over the past 2 seasons. It happens.
- Dirk van Boxtel, the wandering Celtic fan.
@DaarisDirk
I think that's it Mike....
With Shaq in the middle the lane is really clogged. Offense becomes stagnant and predictable when he’s in there. I like Shaq, but he simply wasn’t a good fit with Phoenix…
Clogged lane...
… ask the Cavs. Same issue there right now.
- Dirk van Boxtel, the wandering Celtic fan.
@DaarisDirk
Cavs had an offence other than LeBron ISO?
by azmanian_devil on Nov 27, 2009 8:48 PM MST up reply actions
When LBJ is your main source of scoring...
… having Shaq stand in the paint is not going to help.
It’s like putting a brick wall in the middle of a landing strip…
- Dirk van Boxtel, the wandering Celtic fan.
@DaarisDirk
I like that
Coming into the season our opening schedule was a nail biting inferno. But now it was easy compared to what was coming up. Why? Because we MADE it look easy. We ROCK!
Fanaticism is not logical

- Dirk van Boxtel, the wandering Celtic fan.
@DaarisDirk
Ramon Sessions with the buzzer beater!
That closed the lead to 21 points. Moral victory?
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
Not even that.
More like a tiny personal tissue to wipe away the tears.
- Dirk van Boxtel, the wandering Celtic fan.
@DaarisDirk
I'm just popping in for halftime
but we’re doing exactly what we should be doing so far – dominating a lesser opponent.
And how about Sideshow Bob? 8 points 6 boards so far… he’s almost beating Shaq’s season averages!
Anyone else watching on League Pass?
… and getting mild stomach convulsions when you see Howard Stern?
- Dirk van Boxtel, the wandering Celtic fan.
@DaarisDirk
I am, but I switched over to the Grizzlies/Blazers game for halftime...
…which is an absolute slaughter right now. 42 – 17 Griz with 7 minutes left in the 2nd.
Wow I gotta hope to B-Edge to check out whats up

April 29, 2008 Total Eclipse of the Sun. Is the sky falling?
That's why
we didn’t confider drafting him when we thought we were gonnaget the 4th pick (Atlanta screwed it up by advancing to the protected third pick and snagged Horford)

Corey Brewer
is apparently all about padding the Suns’ defensive rebound stats.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
3 blocks is gonna look nice in the stats
But they still scored.
So is that better or worse than giving up 3 or 4 boards without them scoring? hmmm
Fanaticism is not logical
I was wondering that too
But I’ll take the showing of interior D over just letting them go up with it.

Suns Offense
Brings a tear to my eye, its so beautiful…

it’s amazing how much you can move the ball when the middle isn’t clogged by a Shaqtus
by ArizonaCactus on Nov 27, 2009 9:09 PM MST up reply actions
Yeah, now look at the Cavs
I think they have that problem now. Did you see any of the Charlotte-Cleveland game?
April 29, 2008 Total Eclipse of the Sun. Is the sky falling?
i did
Cleveland’s offense was terrible….I mean, Charlotte didn’t have a single field goal from the 9 minute mark in the fourth quarter and Cleveland only managed to outscore them 12-3….That’s why we have addition by subtraction
by ArizonaCactus on Nov 27, 2009 9:13 PM MST up reply actions
Suns spacing is amazing on offense. Always someone open.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
It has to be demoralizing
when you’re 20 down, and a 7 footer drains a three.
April 29, 2008 Total Eclipse of the Sun. Is the sky falling?

I thought the same thing. That’s just gotta hurt. And a couple plays later Amar’e with that ridiculous reverse. It’s just unkind.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
Remember
no matter how beautiful, we have to keep fine tuning the attack, or good teams will adjust. D’Antoni’s teams didn’t adjust, they just kept running. This offense will be easier to tailor, I think.
April 29, 2008 Total Eclipse of the Sun. Is the sky falling?
Trade Amar'e!
It took him 10 more minutes to get 3 more points than Lopez and he STILL doesn’t have as many rebounds!
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
He didn't just play
He beasted. 3rd quarter’s about to end.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
Earl Clark in the 3rd.
Gentry’s feeling frisky.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
Another thing I noticed
this is the third straight game where our FG percentage went up as the game went on. We were shooting 66% at half, now it is 59%
April 29, 2008 Total Eclipse of the Sun. Is the sky falling?
Even though they didn't start as slow tonight
That sort of is in line with what we’ve seen from the Suns this season. They play better as the game wears on. Maybe it’s a warming up thing?
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
Like I said
He could have been had for cheap when Milwaukee had him.
April 29, 2008 Total Eclipse of the Sun. Is the sky falling?
STAT and Robin
Anyone watching the game care to comment on how the two big guys played together? or did they just sub for each other?
April 29, 2008 Total Eclipse of the Sun. Is the sky falling?
They didn't see the floor together much
It was mostly Frye on the floor with either of them. Lopez came in when STAT and Lou got in that early foul trouble.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
I'm actually not sure they were ever on the floor at the same time.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
Isn't that what
we want to see long term?
April 29, 2008 Total Eclipse of the Sun. Is the sky falling?
Maybe
BUT, I have to say in this system, it might work better if Frye slides over to the 4 when Lopez is in the game. It gives them a solid interior presence and keeps the floor spaced offensively. At some point, the Suns will have to have Stoudemire and Lopez on the floor at the same time, but this iteration has the personnel to be more flexible with the rotation.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa

and give time for Lopez and also Barbosa to get time on the floor…
Lopez is, however, a fouling maching
You're not kidding
I want Lopez enrolled in yoga STAT. He needs to learn how to control his body/mind a bit better.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
Ouch, that was a hard fall...
Glad he’s okay
Can't believe how the Suns are challenging shots tonight
8 blocks and several other attempts. Some of that is Lopez in the lane, but Leandro has attempted 2 now and 5 other Suns have at least 1. No easy buckets for ’Sota tonight.

Memo to Suns Announcers
ESPN absolutely made the right decision dropping this game in favor of MIL-OKC. They, and America, would be cutting themselves right now if they had been forced to watch this.
Of course, it would have finally been a win for the Suns on national TV this year.
Contributor: Bright Side of the Sun Twitter: @MikeLisboa
We won on ESPN earlier this year
I think it was the first or second game of the year against the Clippers or Warriors…the Suns have been able to win on ESPN, even last year; its just that damn TNT that they’re cursed with losing on.
What a shitty steal there at the end.
That was so uncalled for. Lose with dignity, T’Wolves.
