So their other backup 2-guard (Yutobatamoto Diawara?) can have an epic battle with our very own Alando Tucker.

Or DWade will just play 48 minutes.

Just a thought

I havent seen an alley oop since Marion left. Thats hyperbole, but still…where did that weapon go?

by KnowGood on Nov 3, 2009 6:01 PM MST reply actions

I've seen a few, but I know what you're getting at.

I also think the alley oop is overrated. Fundamentals win games, not magic and glitter. I think losing the alley oop as a part of our arsenal goes along with losing the run and gun game. If we get going again and get a lot of fast breaks and stuff and play lose and stuff, we have clark and stat who can both dunk it like Marion used to.

If Carlos Arroyo were taking/hitting his shots...

… he’d be abusing Goran. Fortunately, he didn’t take one wide open shot after losing Dragic and bricked the other.

by Mike Lisboa on Nov 3, 2009 6:21 PM MST reply actions

If he's on... Arroyo isn't always on

and abusing Goran is pretty much something that every real point guard can do. He’s just not ready yet. But that’s ok cause he’s not our starting point. However it sucks that his defense isn’t markedly better than Nash’s.

I have Nash and Barbosa on my team

I’ve had Nash on my team the past 3 seasons. I’m loving my team this season, but dealing with a few injuries right now (LB, V. Carter, N. Robinson).

Nash is just always great for fantasy ball. I also have D-12 (my #1 pick). He’s just a friggin beast. A must-have for a fantasy team.

by Mike Lisboa on Nov 3, 2009 6:48 PM MST reply actions

I think at least 3 of those turnovers where due to

the exquisit eye of the ref. Who can seem to see Amundson or Nash getting hammered because he is too focused on whether or not the ball touch the ground before the step.

don't worry too much

we tend to lose by a lot when we shoot well and are still down at the half. That mean’s a teams dominating us by forcing turnovers, limiting 2nd chance points, and not letting us get to the line

When we’re shooting 41% that means we just aren’t hitting, but we can improve on it

I like the subject because it's where my cursor is by default

I don’t really care for the new SBN format

And I read AoW about three years ago. Thought it was incredibly boring.

Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."

1. I like the new format (new poster, long time reader)
2. I think because it is in game so we all want to do it the quickest way possible, thus allowing us more time to focus on game
3. I’ve read it about three times in my life…..A’mare doesn’t do it justice.

up 6… you can get hurt by the 3, and if you had the right person with the ball, fouling meant only being up 4-5 instead of possibly 3

then Nash gets the ball, and you still have a 2 poss game with him getting to the line

don't get too excited...

The Heat had 12 offensive boards, and shot 36-90 vs our 6 offensive boards and our 39-77 shooting. We did have more free throws, true.. but they had a significant number of extra opportunities against us. We only got more boards because the Heat are such a lamentably mediocre shooting team.

Things are moving in the right direction, but we need to tighten things up considerably. and soon.

It was good to get that win

That game was quite ugly until the Nash spark in the 3rd, and good D in the 4th. Although as Stan pointed out the refs were allowing a lot of contact inside which could’ve been pretty bad on us as D-Wade could’ve been on the line on every possession.

Still a win is a win. J-Rich had some daggers and Nash was just Nash…GG
