Cook out for Heat!

So their other backup 2-guard (Yutobatamoto Diawara?) can have an epic battle with our very own Alando Tucker.
Or DWade will just play 48 minutes.
this is the first game
that i get to actually watch. thank god midterms are over!
now lets stay undefeated. GO SUNS!
World Series '09 - In Memory of #34 Nick Adenhart!
haha!
Frye competing in his own dunk contest.. i love it!
Until spring training starts - let's go Cardinals and Suns!
Doing great on the glass
Little worried that the threes aren’t falling. Can’t give up 2nd chance pts

but on the other hand
Channing Frye just laid down a monsterous jam
by ArizonaCactus on Nov 3, 2009 5:54 PM MST up reply actions
I like what Frye is doing here
He put up a few attempts on the 3, its not falling, so he goes inside. Build that confidence, work your way back outside.
Just a thought
I havent seen an alley oop since Marion left. Thats hyperbole, but still…where did that weapon go?
I've seen a few, but I know what you're getting at.
I also think the alley oop is overrated. Fundamentals win games, not magic and glitter. I think losing the alley oop as a part of our arsenal goes along with losing the run and gun game. If we get going again and get a lot of fast breaks and stuff and play lose and stuff, we have clark and stat who can both dunk it like Marion used to.
Fanaticism is not logical
Miami has had two short stretches where they look like
they are just dominating us. It’s like they ramp it up for a few minutes, but can’t sustain. It’s scary because it seems like if they keep that up they’ll blow us right the hell out.
Fanaticism is not logical
Did anyone else have trouble convincing themselves that that was indeed Q on the court? I legitimately did not recognize him without the headband.
We're doing things right, and we're doing things wrong.
So far it’s averaging out. We need to fix the bad and keep on with the good. I’m liking the position we’re in.
Fanaticism is not logical
If Carlos Arroyo were taking/hitting his shots...
… he’d be abusing Goran. Fortunately, he didn’t take one wide open shot after losing Dragic and bricked the other.
If he's on... Arroyo isn't always on
and abusing Goran is pretty much something that every real point guard can do. He’s just not ready yet. But that’s ok cause he’s not our starting point. However it sucks that his defense isn’t markedly better than Nash’s.
I thought Miami's training staff wasn't that great
they supposedly couldn’t get Shaq back into good health, but to me, they’ve done a great job of ressurecting Jermaine O’neals corpse
It helps that
JOneal works harder than SOneal.
And JOneal doesn’t average 7.4 CSPD.
(That’s Club Sandwiches Per Day.)
ya but JO was pretty much a corpse
Who even remembers where he played the last 3-4 years (besides his momma?)
I’m surprised he wasn’t on TNT’s “Who He Play For?” segment
Haha.
That segment is for the Royal Ivey’s and Yutabutomoto Diawaras of the world.
You only need to be a bit player. You need a pretty weird name too :)
Sup Everyone?
Hoping for big games from Nash and Frye. I have them on my fantasy team. Lol I sat Gerald Wallace for a week and he dropped a 20/20 performance last night T_T
I have Nash and Barbosa on my team
I’ve had Nash on my team the past 3 seasons. I’m loving my team this season, but dealing with a few injuries right now (LB, V. Carter, N. Robinson).
Nash is just always great for fantasy ball. I also have D-12 (my #1 pick). He’s just a friggin beast. A must-have for a fantasy team.
I have Barbosa and Carter as well lol
I sat Barbosa coz I heard his hand was hurting. Dunno why I started Carter when he was injured but I’m glad he’s able to play.

Well, the bench did something the starters couldn't do.
They got a lead. Then they lost it
Fanaticism is not logical
Suns' hustle squad...
just got completely out-hustled on last 3 possessions. Also, I disagree with the announcer that an 18 foot fallway jumper is a “good confidence shot” for Dragic.
Frustrating to watch
After watching a few games of good free flowing ball, this is hard to watch. Lets see how we do in the 2nd half
Double teams
Miami (and by Miami, I mean Dwyane Wade) is passing out of them perfectly. The Suns however are not finding the open man regardless of who Miami doubles.
It looks like we're just not athletic enough to stay with them.
I felt that way the first two stretches that Miami played hot. Now this is the third and they’re really piling on us.
Fanaticism is not logical
Bottom line: their backcourt
is much more athletic than ours. and both our PG’s are defensive liabilities. Besides JR who do we have in the backcourt that can keep up with Miami.
when he becomes 100%
He’ll be super saiyan. I really do see an improvement in his D. If he can stay with it, keep the consistency of his jumper, and return to the thunderous slams…he’ll get that max deal he’s lookin for.
I like coach's energy during a game.
he’s not as volatile as d’antoni, but still is very engaged in the game.
Amare has 7 boards and a block...
make that 2 blocks, I think he tipped Udonis’ shot.
I just hope he keeps it up.
might as well be.
The last few minutes where fine. But I bet if we manage to take the lead again we will see a barrage of ticky tack calls all of the sudden.

Down by 8 after all that bull shit, should I be content or just frustrated?
Fanaticism is not logical
We’re within striking distance. Keep it at 10 or below and we can pull this out in the 4th. Our shooting MUST get better.
Wow Amare
really looks good…
Missing a lot of shots but keeping it close on the glass and on D. Wade only has 8.
Dudz looked solid on him

Not too concerened
But I will harp on turnovers until Phoenix Stan bans me. Suns can get all the calls in the world, but if they don’t take care of the ball, they are doomed.
I think at least 3 of those turnovers where due to
the exquisit eye of the ref. Who can seem to see Amundson or Nash getting hammered because he is too focused on whether or not the ball touch the ground before the step.
TO THE NBA - " Yeah, you have created a rift within me ; Now there have been ; several complications ; that have left me feeling nothing ; I might say, you were ; wrong to take it from me ; Left me feeling nothing " - Disturbed, "Numb"
You have to admit some of those turnovers have been bad calls though. I won’t absolve them of all blame, but Lou’s offensive foul? He didn’t even knock Quentin over!

I agree 1000000%
I’d rather see a missed three than a traveling call, a missed floater than Nash having the ball stolen. You’ve got to take a shot before you make the shot.
Fanaticism is not logical
Hopeful
That we will warm up after halftime! But I’m really stuck only being able to see the box score, is it just we are shooting poorly or is Miami that good at getting to our shooters?
shooting poorly ... we have missed some wide open looks
TO THE NBA - " Yeah, you have created a rift within me ; Now there have been ; several complications ; that have left me feeling nothing ; I might say, you were ; wrong to take it from me ; Left me feeling nothing " - Disturbed, "Numb"

Quick opinion on fantasy trade
Bosh for Amare? Would you do the trade. Bosh is playing out of his mind right now but will he sustain? On the other hand, Amare if and when healthy can unleash retarded numbers
I can see this one getting out of hand really quickly
But hey … what did we really expect? We still have Suns jerseys on.
TO THE NBA - " Yeah, you have created a rift within me ; Now there have been ; several complications ; that have left me feeling nothing ; I might say, you were ; wrong to take it from me ; Left me feeling nothing " - Disturbed, "Numb"
don't worry too much
we tend to lose by a lot when we shoot well and are still down at the half. That mean’s a teams dominating us by forcing turnovers, limiting 2nd chance points, and not letting us get to the line
When we’re shooting 41% that means we just aren’t hitting, but we can improve on it
I’m here now after your Twitter call. What’s going on?

D-Wade finding the open man on double teams. Nash and Suns… not so much.

They’ll slow down and let us back in. They can’t keep this crazy pace. But we’ve got to figure something out. If thye’re on this type of tare at the end of the game we’re cooked.

One, what do you think of the new SBN format?
Two, why do you guys only use the subject line?
Three, how many of you read Sun Tzu’s Art of War this summer?

I like the subject because it's where my cursor is by default
I don’t really care for the new SBN format
And I read AoW about three years ago. Thought it was incredibly boring.

1. I like the new format (new poster, long time reader)
2. I think because it is in game so we all want to do it the quickest way possible, thus allowing us more time to focus on game
3. I’ve read it about three times in my life…..A’mare doesn’t do it justice.

JRich is surprising me
not just his offensive play, but defensively and generally overall. His mental game looks solid. He’s not doing anything too dumb (except that quick 3 for no reason)
That block from STAT
was because he was influenced by Collins’ block. Collins got the block and Amare got amped; wanted one of his own.
He has looked more confident from 3 so far this early season…he just gets way too down on himself for missing a free throw

I would have considered fouling
up 6… you can get hurt by the 3, and if you had the right person with the ball, fouling meant only being up 4-5 instead of possibly 3
then Nash gets the ball, and you still have a 2 poss game with him getting to the line
instead… well they missed. So good for us.

4-0!!!!
I know the first 3 we were supposed to win, but this really does feel good. Looking forward to doing things on this road trip. If we can keep the karma high, we got a great future coming.
This was a VERY impressive win
Hung tough when the long ball wasn’t falling. Over came crappy FT shooting….
Played tough interior D. Won the boards and held Wade in check!!!
That’s a real nice win right there

we shut down wade
thats a first in over a year for us

I just noticed this...
STAT and Lou each had three blocks. They were having a friggen block party down low.

helped that they
weren’t calling any contact inside…they let them bang so the Suns went after it

Yeh i noticed that
they were being real lax on the calls inside. Good for us overall i guess

Hill continues to be a monster on the boards with 12 tonight!
Best 16 and 11 game I’ve ever seen STAT play.
That's what we need from Stat. 11 rebounds a night is far more impressive than 25 or 30 points.

YEAAAAH ROYYYY!!!
Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."
Yeah, I just looked, they're beating the Lakers!
Huge if we gain another game on LA!
Fanaticism is not logical
Defense....
Since the first quarter of the Minnesota game, neither Minn or Miami have scored 30 points in a quarter, and Miami in hte 4th scored only 15.
Fanaticism is not logical
I'm likin the rebounding so far this season
Will we constantly be out-rebounding teams? No, but I’m beginning to think we’ll at least consistently keep it close.

that is all we need to give us an upper hand. If we shoot more…. we win. Simple as that.

don't get too excited...
The Heat had 12 offensive boards, and shot 36-90 vs our 6 offensive boards and our 39-77 shooting. We did have more free throws, true.. but they had a significant number of extra opportunities against us. We only got more boards because the Heat are such a lamentably mediocre shooting team.
Things are moving in the right direction, but we need to tighten things up considerably. and soon.

It was good to get that win
That game was quite ugly until the Nash spark in the 3rd, and good D in the 4th. Although as Stan pointed out the refs were allowing a lot of contact inside which could’ve been pretty bad on us as D-Wade could’ve been on the line on every possession.
Still a win is a win. J-Rich had some daggers and Nash was just Nash…GG
Stan likes to point that out.
He can’t just be happy that for once the calls didnt go against us in a super star situation.

To be fair they let them bang away serveral times on both side of the ball.

LOL tru story

It wasn't just Wade
they were just letting a lot of contact on both ends…and they were calling stupid shit on the perimeter. It’s just how the game was called and it helped Amare and Lou be more aggressive.
They did great but the way the game is called matters too

I was happy that in the second half
they allowed them to play on both ends of the floor. The first was tough and I got a little annoyed due to several series of tick tack foul calls. Then in the second half it was all out wrestling. I wonder how frustrating it is as a player to have several different sets of rules?

And
I was just giving you crap. No worries.
