get barbosa out of here

what trade scenarios would get barbosa out of here

he is already pissing me off 17 games into the season

wait till he gets healthy and get a point guard that is capable of defending or maybe a quality big

his production has been great, but he isnt getting better and his injuries are becoming very common

and im sure there are others players that would love his minutes and could produce just as much (goran and jared)

give him time...

I would consider a Camby for barbosa trade. (which team says no first?)

but I think we should keep him, I have a feeling hes going to take this team to a whole other level when he gets healthy and comfortable again.

This is the type of trade

That got us where we were last year with lots of old people and no players for the future. Why would you trade one of our best young talents for someone who, while still productive, is very near the end of his career?

by jburning on Nov 30, 2009 6:46 AM MST up reply actions

Ive always loved Cambys game and thought he would fit perfect with the suns

Also he is a expiring contract giving us 10 million more in financial freedom. However, I said consider but I would never do anything while we are rolling like this.

Trade Steve Nash. I don’t like the sign he was born under. I think Dragic can play as good as him.

agreed!

steve’s production has been great, but he isn’t getting better and his injuries are becoming very common!!!!

I propose we trade all of our frail human player for robots that never get injured and continue to improve infinitely!!

I, for one, accept your proposal. (Hilarious, by the way.)

WTF?

jburning.. i agree .. he just needs to get into a good groove… Barbosa, has been putting up good numbers but its been overshadowed by the great play from the bench… LB is no longer thre lone ranger coming off the bench… but we should keep a guy that can go off for 42 on any given night… i mean COOOOOME ON suns_1… phoenixstan needs to enlighten u a little bit

What in the world?

Get rid of LB? I agree he is a good trading piece, and he does seem to be the odd man out with Dragic and Richardson playing better, but he is a dream player. He is instant offense when he is hjealthy. He doesn’t demand shots and playing time. He is great in the locker room.

Why would you want to get rid of him?

exactly.

the only way i would trade him off is if we could get someone with a huge upside back.

someone like anthony randolph. though, i’m pretty sure we burned the bridge with golden state a long time ago.

Crazy

Yeah he sprained his ankle on purpose. Just like when family was ill in Brazil, just another planned excuse by LB.
Stop already, guys get hurt. If you can’t tell that LB loves to play, the team loves him, he is not shooting his mouth off, not doing crack, not running whores at all hours. Jeez get over yourself. LB is the least of our worries on this team. How about Lopez? I guess he hurt his foot on purpose to, why don’t you ride his ass out of town.
 14-3, lighten up!!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of Barbosa

What happened to the " MUST START AND ALSO FINISH WITH BARBOSA!" guy?

by dontTradeAaronNelson! on Nov 30, 2009 3:40 PM MST reply actions

I banned him

for disagreeing with me too many times…

Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan

by Seth Pollack on Nov 30, 2009 3:42 PM MST up reply actions

which is to say

for being obnoxious to the point that it was turning people off and harming the over all level of discourse and community

MUST start and ALSO finish with LB!!!!

I think Phoenix Stan is a little obnoxious himself for banning B Cray Z. I thought B Cray Z added alot to the blogs and increased the number of comments. I don’t think anyone should be banned unless there is profanity or the comment doesn’t relate to the Suns at all – particularly just because a comment disagrees with Phoenix Stan.

by tx fan of suns on Nov 30, 2009 8:40 PM MST up reply actions

but if he's posting a bajillion comments

and every person is like, “dude, seriously, chill out”, then escalating to “shut the hell up, seriously”, it harms the overall openness of the site.

by Trevor Paxton on Nov 30, 2009 9:27 PM MST up reply actions

I don't think it ever got to that point

and, as I recall, there were quite a few people that were agreeing with him (other than Will Cantrell and Phoenix Stan).

by tx fan of suns on Nov 30, 2009 9:43 PM MST up reply actions

Yeah.

He increased the number of comments all right.

by Azreous on Dec 1, 2009 2:10 AM MST up reply actions

lol

that’s right. I remember him not really understanding why people were complaining about him..

by dontTradeAaronNelson! on Nov 30, 2009 10:31 PM MST up reply actions

Really?

Call me crazy, but he was monopolizing the posts with only pseudo-coherent rants. Fun maybe, but there comes a time when you actually want some serious discussion (at least about things other than barbosa and how great Hawk is). I don’t have a problem with the guy, he was just a bit too over the top.

by egp the great on Dec 1, 2009 8:11 AM MST up reply actions

To be clear

and not sarcastic…he was banned NOT for disagreeing with me.

I really do like it when people disagree as long as it is presented in a reasonable manner. Civil.

He was repeatedly asked to tone it back and was unable to participate in our community according to the norms. In the end I decided his participation was hurting the site overall and driving other people away. Those people that had no interest hanging around watching one guy repeatedly make his case..over and over and over again.

I would gladly sacrifice numbers for quality

I thought that was funny

I would say something, and he would say how great and astute I was. An old friend told me to beware of people who compliment you too much. I mean, I’ve been around and I have some things to say, but soi does everyone. I got to the point where I didn’t take the bait, and just let you guys duke it out with him. He posted like he was about 13 yeard old.

Barbosa may continue to have an off year

He didn’t exactly get much off time in the summer, not with getting gold in the FIBA championships. It’s just too much basketball without any down time.
But I don’t think we should trade him (outside of any ridiculously good offer) just because he isn’t at his prime this year. If (and that’s a very important IF) he gets enough rest time, his production could easily start to roll back up.. but that won’t happen if he keeps getting little knick-knack injuries.

Get Lou Amundson out of here!

Amundson has been here approximately 1.2 years, and still doesn’t score the 30.5 PPG we expected. He can’t even shoot free throws as well as Steve Nash. Let’s picket Steve Kerr’s house (and club him with our picket signs if he comes outside to see what we want).

Hear, Hear

And Good Lord, what is it with that ponytail? Is he trying to become the Suns’ Kurt Rambis? And one day we’ll have a promotion where the first 10,000 paying customers get a fake hair ponytail.

iverson??

if the sixers dont sign him soon
barbosa is out, we need instant offense of the bench

iverson anybody?
he did say he would play off the bench for a contender:)

by suns_1 on Nov 30, 2009 5:52 PM MST reply actions

but would he come off the bench in practice?

probably not. he probably wouldn’t even show up.

‘cause we talkin’ about the game.

I Love LB!

There I said it. This guy is so humble and knows how lucky he is unlike so many other players. He is a dream. On basketball terms, I think he could be starting by necessity in the next 2 years at the longest. I don’t know what his contract looks like, but I don’t know why we wouldn’t re-sign him when the time comes. Grant Hill, despite the fountain of youth that is Phoenix, will be retiring soon. Assuming we draft or acquire noone better at the guard position, after Hill retires I could easily see Barbosa assuming J Rich’s spot. That would move J Rich to the 3 I know but that works in my mind. So unless your going to get someone like Tyreke Evans or Brandon Jennings or something along those lines, then there is no reason for Barbosa to be moved. And yes, I think Barbosa is well worth those kinds of players. Did I say that I love Barbosa?

If for no other reason, Alando Tucker is still on this team. If he can be on this team then Barbosa surely owns a spot as well.

iverson

i think he would make us a championship contender
he could maybe teach barbosa a thing or two :)

he could be apart of something special

by suns_1 on Nov 30, 2009 8:07 PM MST reply actions

he would certainly

be apart from something special….

Come on now, there’s a reason that no one wanted to sign Iverson this summer and reason he’s still without a job

He is the anti-Sun

I could almost get behind the Iverson idea, except...

…as a career 31.3% 3-point shooter he simply wouldn’t spread the floor enough, and hence is a bad, bad fit for this offense. And a worse shooter than LB, whom we already have.

just curious...

apart from the terrible 3 pt shooting, the cancerous locker room presence, LB’s roughly equal skillset going to the rim, his lack of any real defensive skills, and the age induced decline in AI’s game,

what part of this idea is the part that you could almost get behind?

by Fritzy on Dec 1, 2009 12:41 AM MST up reply actions   1 recs

I like his cornrows

Steve Nash, the league's MVP, is a longhaired Canadian who spoke out against the war in Iraq and reads The Communist Manifesto. Quentin Richardson declared after a game-winning shot that it "was like Hamlet. It was a suspense thriller, and I killed them at the end." Amare Stoudemire, when asked to comment on a 22-point third quarter against the Kings, said, "I've got a tendency to jump over some guys' heads and throw it down."

by rsavaj on Dec 1, 2009 7:55 AM MST up reply actions

The part...

…where he magically becomes a team player and turns back time (a la Grant Hill and Shaq and Steve Nash). It’s a bad idea, but I just have a soft spot for AI’s electric years.

By the way, how awesome would it be if Iverson writes a book letting us know that the cornrows were a wig and he was on meth in the 2001 Finals? WAY better than Chamberlain’s 15,000.

Bingo

AI has no reason stepping in the valley, only if he is playing on the visiting team.
Now if somehow we could pry Randolph from Nellie in Golden State.

by Grockcubs on Dec 1, 2009 6:28 AM MST up reply actions

He certainly could

He could teach him to be surly and uncommunicative. He’d show LB which gun to carry, and how to talk about himself to the press. The picture I see is in the movie MASH, where the innocent Burns character was reading the Bible, and Pierce gives him a Playboy.
