December Record - What is your guess?

Knowing that the month of December will be a killer for the Suns, how do you think they fare?

Here is my predication by week:

3-13 @NYK / 12-5 @CLE / 8-8 SAC   Record 3-0
13-3 @LAL / 13-5 @DAL / 14-4 ORL / 12-5 @DEN   Record 2-2 (Loss to LAL and Den)
9-6 SAS / 12-7 @POR / 5-10 WAS    Record 2-1 (Loss to Portland)
12-5 CLE / 9-8 OKC / 8-10 LAC / 6-10 @GS   Record 3-1 (Loss to Cleveland)
13-3 LAL / 13-4 BOS   Record 1-1 (Loss to Boston)
Overall record for Dec 11-5

Hmm, 16 games in 30 days against the top-tier of the league...

9-7 is a bit more realistic (from a homer standpoint).
Differences from your predictions are: the CLE games (L on road, W at home), ORL game (no answer to Howard = L), and last LAL game (no answer to Gasol = L).
Again, this assumes we don’t have a slip-up against a minor team, which can easily happen within this schedule. Honestly, I’d be thrilled if we escaped 2009 with a 23-10 record.

The great start to the season provides a nice cushion heading into what is clearly the most difficult month of the season. By the end of December they should know where they stand in the west as they will have faced all the west teams except Utah and will be finished playing the east’s big 3 (BOS, CLE, ORL) until they face one of them in the finals.

12/1 @NYK (W, 1-0)
12/2 @CLE (L, 1-1)
12/5 SAC (W, 2-1)
12/6 @LAL (L, 2-2)
12/8 @DAL (W, 3-2)
12/11 ORL (L, 3-3, FIRST HOME LOSS)
12/12 @DEN (L, 3-4)
12/15 SAS (W, 4-4)
12/17 @POR (W, 5-4)
12/19 WAS (W, 6-4)
12/21 CLE (L, 6-5)
12/23 OKC (W, 7-5)
12/25 LAC (W, 8-5)
12/26 @GS (W, 9-5)
12/28 LAL (W, 10-5)
12/30 BOS (L, 10-6)

The Suns first 6 back-to-backs are brutal. The 2nd games have been vs ORL, LAL, PHI, CLE, LAL, and DEN. All 6 on the road and 5 vs teams in last year’s conference finals.

How many Nationally televised games do we play in December?

That’s how many I guess we will lose – and only that many! lol

Yup

and it’s sad… I usually preview/recap those games. =(

Well

at least when they prove me wrong and beat some team/s up on national TV you’ll have a sweet sweet victory write-up to pen… er type. You’ve got to juice it up and take it for every ounce it’s worth seeing that those dang wins are so hard to come by!

We're hosed

We’re going to go 0-4 if we make the playoffs then because they will all be nationally televised right?

Based on the number of back to backs we have against great teams, I’d say we go 8-8 in December

by SunsFTW on Dec 1, 2009 3:55 PM MST reply actions

Right...

We’re lucky if we go 8-8 this month. We stunk up the Garden yesterday. I’m not one of those that likes to jump off or on the bandwagon too quickly. But, the Suns need to show some urgency tonight. Losing to the Knicks for the opening game of a very difficult month is not a good sign. It’s potentially one of those games that you look back at the end of the season as an indicator.

Suns off to a good start!

What was that? They must have thought they were in Cleveland a day early!

no breaks

breaks are few and far between and all in the wrong places.
cleveland on the back end of a back to back tonight
LAL on the back end of a back to back (AWAY!)
orlando and denver back to back ending in denver
san antonio’s always had our number
and has much as i hate to say it, GSW at home is tough, and we got them on the back end of a back to back
then lal and boston with one day rest both of which are a tough match even at US airways

we’ll be lucky to come out .500 after the way we started

The bubble bursts

The only good thing about the last 2 games is the Suns showed up for 1 half!

You’ve only commented on 1 Silver Screen and Roll post, but you have over 30 comments here at the BSotS?

If you’re such a huge Lakers fan… why do you only post to antagonize here and never contribute to your own team’s site?

You all are right!

I really don’t hate the Suns. I hate the Jazz cause I moved to Utah 4 years ago and can only go to two Laker games a year now. I get insulted and harrassed at the games. Maybe it’s because all the Laker gear I wear. I’ll leave you guys alone and wish you a good season and happy holidays. I might post now and then but not to dis your team.
