Around SBN: 2011 In Extreme Home Runs

The entire analysis is worth a read to truly appreciate the significance of the findings, but I thought people might be interested in this: over the last three years, Steve Nash has had by far the largest impact on team effective field goal percentage of anyone.

"If you look at the first row of the league-wide offense rankings, you'll see Steve Nash ranked atop the league as an offensive player. Reading the columns left to right, the first of the four factors is effective FG%. Nash's impact here is astounding. His presence on the floor is predicted to increase team effective FG% by 2.96%, which is almost double the impact of any other player in the league. Obviously, he's ranked in the 99th percentile here."

Certainly there are multiple explanations for why a player like Nash would have such a strong effect on team eFg%, but I think this analysis demonstrates just how large that impact is.

The author goes on to do a full Four Factors analysis of Nash on both offense and defense.....
