Good energy...guys are not standing around
ball moving well. Nice to see that!
"Basketball doesn't build character. It reveals it"
the only person im worried about is jason terry… he shoots 3s wrecklessly off the bench and makes them
love how jrich looks like friggin ilgauskas with how easy he dunks the ball

Just turning the game on now
so I am catching up via Tivo…should be back to “real time” by end of 1st Qtr
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
I like the energy
Good 1st Q. for the Suns. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen one of those. Let’s close the quarter strong.
"Basketball doesn't build character. It reveals it"
I am behind
but Suns are looking sharp early…running some new plays with more picks and movements and less pick and roll
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
offense really
looks crisp….lots of movement and passing
funny what a day off will do
oh and I love Hill’s D on Dirk getting up in his grill and making him put the ball on the floor
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
kind of like the way you miss an ugly dog when it dies
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
What a pass by Nash with the left hand
Wow. just Wow. A swing pass with the left hand…almost falling down.
"Basketball doesn't build character. It reveals it"
Nice quarter, guys!
We are running and moving the ball really well. Loving it!
"Basketball doesn't build character. It reveals it"
I didn't want to say it to not freak everyone out
but… ESPN Deportes picked it up today. So it’s being broadcast to all Latin America. Curse Game!
"Basketball doesn't build character. It reveals it"
Suns ran
a pick and roll with Nash and JRich…
I love that… want more
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
Wait a sec
I thought J-Ho wasn’t playing and yet there he is…playing
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
Goran gets the rebound and then
with the great follow on the offensive end!
"Basketball doesn't build character. It reveals it"
Barea killing the Suns
Can someone guard the kid…
"Basketball doesn't build character. It reveals it"
Is there something wrong with frye?
why only 8 mins?
Couple of fouls
but I am thinking that we might start seeing less of him on nights when he misses a couple early shots
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
well
you can do that or you can play your other big guys that play better D and rebound (Lou and Robin)
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
Liking Lopez
working around the paint…tipping balls, moving people, sweating beard filtered sweat on the floor
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
Great rip by Robin
just yanking the ball out of Gooden’s hands or I guess I should say tying him up for the jump ball
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
Horrible defense by Richardson
to cover that three point shot! Just awful!
"Basketball doesn't build character. It reveals it"
wow this Barea kid
loves playing against the Suns
btw – it is 6:45 in the 2nd in my time/space continuim
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
J-Rich aggresive posting up and going to the basket
Nice half for him.
"Basketball doesn't build character. It reveals it"
Nice rip by Goran!
and then slashing in for the put back!
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
well...yeah...but...
they don’t even have him subbing off on the play-by-play, suggests he’s injured or something.
I really think
it is being either generous or lazy any time an broadcaster talks about Marion’s “shot”
He does not shoot the ball. He flings it effectively
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
Nice close to the half
with an assist to Marion missing his fling attempt
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
here we go
the game is close but I at least like the improved performance over the last two games…this one could be a barn burner though
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
J-Rich has got to make that shot
we can’t afford him missing open looks.
"Basketball doesn't build character. It reveals it"
we ned this game
winnable. 3 game losing streak. nuff said.

We need to force Dirk put it on the floor
He’s not as comfortable with that. Otherwise, he’ll shoot those jumpers all day.
why would you jump on a head fake from drew gooden at the 3 point line

They keep talking about Kidd
going into the Suns Ring of Honor but I don’t know that he was in Phoenix long enough and certainly not during any of the “good” years
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
Plus we shipped him out pretty quickly after his domestic problems
he didnt really leave with the best name here.
guess not
he basically tackled him in mid air and then hit the ball

Dirk is killing us, but the thing that makes it unbearable for me is that he looks like a goof with that headband.

AAAAAGH
this game was SO winnable. no excuses here. this was a mental collapse and poor effort by the suns until the very end of the game. wtf happened to our defense in the 2nd and 3rd quarter?
ps
our offense and defense seem to be really tightly related. when defense is going, we make shots. when it isnt, we try to go iso on everything or turn it over. yeesh. cant we learn to play some D even when the O isnt there?
Losing streak
December has not been kind to us. Our offense is running out of gas.

i already know yall gonna say it's too early, but
when do we start exploring trade scenarios
it's not early
We need someone other than nash who can make a difference when the game is on the line. Everyone else play just fine against warriors, kings and clippers, but when it’s a bigger game they shy away. Amare and J-Rich are inconsistent.
We need another ball-handler in the lineup
Hill ideally is that guy, but we can’t put it on all a 37 year old dude, no matter how epic he is. We had it in JJ, we had it in Boris…now we’re missing it

muy terrible
i got a feeling… that tonight is not gonna be a goodnight. Its going to be a long cold winter unless the suns get their offense back. is it just me or were just running to many isos over the pick and roll. same play over and over.
Teams are defending our pick and roll very well nowadays
Sad to watch

We had the horses to put up 117.7 ppg w/ Shaq+Gentry last season
Replace Shaq w/ Frye and we should be scoring just fine IMO. Frye’s jekyll/hyde act on the home/road is really hurting this team.

yeah...I hate to agree with u on that...but Shaq although not a good defender by any means
was bigger, stronger, and tougher…he guarded Bynum decently last year as well
say what u may...STAT is just not the same guy...he is going in the wrong direction
Frye is a nice addition, but pretty useless if the outside shot isn’t woking
Yeah I think after 21 games we can say that Amare is not what he used to be.
Which is okay, as long as he doesn’t demand max money….

I think some team will offer him max in the offseason
If they strike out with LeBeast, Wade, Bosh, then they’ll turn to Joe Johnson and Amare. If Miami can’t get LeBron or Bosh to join Wade, and they’re desperate to keep him, I can see them throwing max at him.
If(xenu forbid) this is just the start of a downwards spiral and we’re fighting for a playoff spot come trade deadline, then yeah, I think Amare is bye bye in Feb. If we make the playoffs and get owned early on, then Amare will most likely walk after we don’t give him max money. I just hope that we do a sign and trade this summer instead of letting him walk for nothing.

Playing afraid to lose
one of the great things early in the season was the WTF attitude that came w/ lowered (no) expectations. Next thing you know you are 14-3 and things heat up and suddenly Nash is playing 40 minutes and the bench is an after thought.
I know w/o LB it’s different but you can just sense the team get tight and Gentry reinforced that w/ his rotations. This very much felt like a D’Antoni coached game with only 7 guys used plus a couple of minutes for Robin

still
not a big deal. Spurs are at .500 right now and surely will come on strong. We can survive a rough December.
oh and the Blazers certainly aren’t going to be as strong as they appeared this summer and we already know the Hornets are are not going to be strong.
So we are right back where we started. Lakers and Nuggets are going to run away and then there’s plenty of room for us in that next tier
Blogging Suns Basketball . twitter: @phoenixstan
You are right
never thought about that. Totally true.
"Basketball doesn't build character. It reveals it"
Better times will come
Coaching staff need to make adjustments. Come up with some plays. We can’t rely too much on the outside shot or pick and roll. Gotta play more in the post and penetrate.

The game started off well
there were some new plays and some different movement but there’s not been enough time to really get that settled in

Arg
Friggen Suns getting all my expectations higher than the stars and then pissing me off with lukewarm effort and offense these last 4 losses. Granted the Lakers and Cavs losses were expected, but seriously. It just feels like the Suns havent showed up for the last few games.
Perhaps it’s just me with drastically changed expectations than those i had before the season began.
"Yeah I could have been king, but maybe I already am king. Hail to the king baby." Ash from Army of Darkness
We are still a very good team
but we need to make some adjustments offensively and our defense needs improvement. Seems like when Frye has a bad shooting night it takes a toll on the team. We can’t rely our whole offense on shooters. We need to come up with some different plays because we are becoming pretty damn predictible.
"Basketball doesn't build character. It reveals it"
denver lost tonight
hooray…i guess. what the heck was with all those clutch threes at the END of the game? couldnt we have gotten into that mentality earlier? this reminded me alot of old suns games where we would be in the lead, lose it, then make a final rush at the end for a 50/50 chance of winning.
can the suns get a win against a quality team? can they summon up the heart and desire and WILL needed to do so? at a certain point, all of these intangibles can be more valuable than talent or skill. the suns themselves proved that to me.
well see.
