Trade J-RICH!
Everyone put your heads together and come up with the best possible way to get rid of Jason Richardson. Let's face it, this was a bad trade, I never understood it the moment it happened, but a lot of people around here and elsewhere didn't seem to mind.
It's not just the DUI's, but his play. The guy never plays defense, that's why Roger Rabbit, I mean Mason, beat us on Christmas Day. He models his game after the current Michael Finley, not even the old Michael Finley, who the Suns once drafted, and became a star for the Mavs. His contract is not expiring, so therefore he provides no value to the Suns. There is still a few days to get rid of him. Who's with me?

Rich for Miller+Ollie

Saves Sarver money, and actually gets us a quality player. Mike Miller=awesome.

Not sure they can trade J-Rich
Even if they wanted to trade him. I think is contract has some sort of stipulation at this point that prevents trade for the rest of this season? I could be wrong and I have not actually looked it up. But I think I saw something about it not to long ago.

He can't be traded in combination w/ another player for a certain period of time
but i think that period of time has passed

That stipulation you are talking about just means he can’t be traded back to the same team (Bobcats).

Beno Udrih+Expirings
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=c99p2j
Udrih=backup for Nash and our PG of the future, Sarver gets his expirings so we don’t end up shipping a major piece(Barbosa/Amare) off in a salary dump.

Rich for Josh Howard straight up works in the trade machine
Howard’s a better fit for us and he’s cheaper, expires in 2010

You’re insane, this trade was great, still is and will be. If D’antoni had J-Rich the Suns would have been better. Way better. He’s the Joe Johnson we never had…errr, wait a second. Any way, watch what Gentry does with this squad. In my opinion a team with J-Rich is more geared to run than a squad with Boris and Bell. Neither of those players were good open court players. How many layups did Bell miss as a Sun? Yeah he knew where to spot up and bang down threes in transition, but um, so can J-Rich. The reason Bell and Boris were good for D’antoni’s system isn’t because of their skill in the open court, because quite frankly they don’t excel in that aspect, but what they did excel in was in half court space, Boris especially. But, really, who doesn’t thrive in space?

Are you kidding me?
First off, don’t ever compare J-Rich to Joe Johnson. He isn’t half the player JJ is. Secondly, the reason why Bell and Boris excelled in D’Antoni’s system, is first off they were both good individual defenders. Bell on offense may not be as talented as J-Rich, but he’s far superior on defense. And Diaw, may not have been as a great of a shooter as either of these guys, but because of his versatility and his passing on offense, he was able to excel as well. This was an awful trade no matter how you put it.

Are you kidding ME?!?!?
What did Bill Walton, Avery Johnson, almost all of the on air anylists say? Suns stole Jrich for two ROLE PLAYERS. Are you stuck in 2002? Raja Bell is no where near the defender he once was and Boris Diaw……..is just that Boris Diaw. The only reason JRich isn’t scoring as usual is he is the “Forgotten Sun” Chad Ford’s words not mine. It was a great trade no matter how you put it. Two role players who are aging for a dynamic scorer who can create his own shot and is a legit 20 point a night scorer, ya we lost that one (sarcasm)

J-Rich can't reliably create his own shot off the dribble.
And Boris Diaw is a freaking good player.
Besides, we didn’t need more offense; we needed defense, and we lost it.

I think the trade for Beno Udrih is a good one, except he’s a bit overpaid. I like Josh Howard, but I think J-Rich is about as talented as Josh Howard, and they both have off-court issues.

hahaha
Look, if the Suns needed another star player, then J-Rich would have been a good addition. But the Suns didn’t need him, and they still don’t need him. What they need are good role players who can defend, or atleast try to defend, and knock down shots. When Grant Hill is your best defender, and the year is 2009 and not 1999, we have issues.
Yes, Bell is/was aging, and has lost a step, but atleast he brought some toughness to the team, knew his role, and played hardnosed defense, and knocked down his 3’s. Yes, Diaw was pissing me and everyone else off here after his badass first year, but he at least he could do multiple things, besides camp out at the 3 point line and play matador defense.
J-Rich is a guy who makes star money, thinks he’s a star, but plays like a role player. Even in his last year in Golden State when they went to the playoffs, he became the 3rd or 4th option behind Baron Davis, Stephen Jackson, and take your pick between Biedrins or Ellis. Look, if he didn’t win two dunk contests, and learn to shoot 3’s, he would be a nobody making at best the mid-level exception. Kerr is a moron, he should have got us Gerald Wallace instead of J-Rich.
