Is this fair? or right?
I just listened to the announcers in this celtics game say "It was a good call that the referess did not call the technical on Steve Nash initially as it would have slowed down the fast break."
This was after they flamed Matt Barns for complaining a call. Only to retract all three statements after viewing the replay.
And how many times this game did we watch the referees call a ticky tack call on the celtics that result in a side out and stop our fast break?
I can't stand national announcers or tv broadcasts. Or national games we get the short end of the stick every time. Even when we are favored to win.
If the suns stay within 10 this will be an accomplishment.

ABC
abc announcers announcing that most of the calls the fans are booing are right on the money. I wonder if they give the same critisism to the fans in boston as they boo every call even when they are winning by 40 points against the Suns?

Nash just had an open drive to the lane.
And they called a ticky tack fall that hasnt been called all day resulting in a side out. … go figure its tough to play 5 on 7

Probably the worst called game.
this season. what a momentum buster.

what momentum?
I hardly call beating very poor teams a momentum builder….
Human thought is so primitive, it's looked upon as an infectious disease in some of the better galaxies. That kind of makes you proud, doesn't it?

140 points.
That doesnt happen against even bad teams in the nba. Youre entitled to your opinion :).

I should have recorded this on the dvr
and I would break down play by play plus minus. This game was a lot closer than it appeared minus bad calls.

Fair
is one of the most subjective words in the English language. It’s almost impossible for anyone to truly define fair in a way that works for everyone. I might think it’s fair for me to take your house and all your money, but you would probably disagree. Steve Nash and the rest of the team might think it’s fair for Terry Porter to take the fall for the team’s indifference. Fair is a word for kids to use when they don’t get what they want, I don’t think it applies anywhere in the adult world. I liked your post, I just have a long standing dislike for the word.
Well I will try to define fair.
I may not be successful here. But fair to me at least means that a foul on one side is a foul on the other. A no call on one side is a no call on the other even if i don’t like the circumstances. Calling things by the book for both teams is fair. A game that is setup to have one set of rules cannot be fair if both teams that are playing are allowed to play be two different sets. I wont even go into the fact that those two different sets seem to change game to game, person to person, minute to minute. Just one set of rules enforced in the best possible manner towards both teams. That’s fair? Isnt it?

Agreed
that is most definitely fair, at least the way I see it. But they have to figure out what most of us already know: life isn’t fair. Sometimes you just have to work that much harder to compensate for it.
I agree... and they skip the work harder to overcome part.
