Selling draft picks
I know many here think D'A wouldn't have played these guys, but I think it is time for Sarver to acknowledge the grave damage he has done to the franchise in selling draft picks...
This week sees Rajon Rondo and Nate Robinson as difference-makers for their respective teams. Rondo's 32 points Sunday, and, more significantly, his season-long 52% shooting show pretty conclusively that he should not have been traded. I mean, the Suns were desperate for a backup point, and one fell in their lap at the 24th pick.
The Suns got a chance to pick up another sparkplug in Nate Robinson, but felt the need to include him in the Q trade to the Knicks. This move was a little more understandable, but since the Q signing was unnecessary, and the trade bungled, we could have kept Nate, who yesterday scored 41 points to lead the Knicks to victory.
Our team, amd specifically Robert Sarver, has to be the laughingstock of the league. Not only has the most potent scoring team in the league been dismantled, but the pieces to continue the tradition have been GIVEN away. Think about the current team with Rondo or Robinson, Deng or Iguodala, Joe Johnson, Rudy Fernandez, or Sergio Rodriguuez. Instead, we had Vroman, KT, and a box of used jock straps. And our coup de gras, Goran Dragic and Robin Lopez.
How many more stupid moves can we make?

Boring why? It is as relevant as yesterday's news
You guys spent about 200 useless posts on trade scenarios for Amare. That was boring. Someone drudged up a spurious thread about Obama playing in a three on three challenge. I used to post every day, but now we have all kinds of fluff that doesn’t deserve a response.
We have a middle of the road team, and a bad owner not to mention a geeky GM who is learning on the job. Those two have destroyed this team, and it is about time they answer for it. If that’s boring, you guys need to put down your orange-colored sunglasses.

I feel the pain
get used to it, Hawk42, my friend. We will be feeling it for years and years to come. It is the price of 7SOL and we all knew it.

The price is tinkering? I don't understand
Anyway, since when do we quench meaningful discussion with a toss of the head, BOOOORRRING! like a lost teenager?

Not quenching it all! I'm in full agreement with you. Don't fight it, wallow in it!

Boring EH?
Next year when this team is struggling to win 40 games I guess you will use the same the phrase. It will be boring watching the playoffs when the Suns will not participate because of these horendus moves.

Mine are green :)
I think he did acknowledge it a few days back. I think he specifically said something about going back and changing trades and this and that. didn’t he?

I must have missed that
Anyway, that’s what killed 7SOL, not the philosophy itself. We had the core 4 players, and two valuable reserves (Hunter, Barbosa). All we needed was to fix the SF position (Q was NOT the answer), get a backup point, and maybe another big off the bench, and we were there. Deng and Rondo would have done it.

Yup
I think the only point from the other side is that they thought they were getting the backup PG in Banks and were willing to spend more to get him. The thing about late 1st round draft picks is that they hardly ever work out. Remember #17 pick Zarko Cabarkapa? Me either.
So I think it is a bit unfair to say three years later that we should have known Rondo was going to be this good. He wasn’t exactly highly regarded.
That said, there should have been a better mix of keeping some of those picks in lieu of $3m

Rondo
he was supposed to be a high energy defensive whiz with a suspect jump shot. He did well in the tournaments, and was regarded as a surprise to have slipped to #24. I remember being thrillled at the selection, then crying when they traded him. He was the anti-Eddie House (which is why they complement each other so well on the C’s, I guess)

Remember at that pick
of Rondo, Lowry and Farmer were also available, star players no, But Farmer would have also been a good fit for the Suns.
I think throwing away Deng and Fernandez was just plain dumb. But the Suns treat the draft like it is not even important, thats what pisses me off.

The thing is...
They did not trreat the draft that way until Sarver took over.

Here's another one
In 2005 the Suns drafted and then sold the rights to Marcin Gortat of the Magic…which was a 2nd rd pick the Suns acquired in the trade that brought Jimmy Jackson to Phx
