Steve Nash is a game time decision

After the Phoenix Suns' practice today, Coach Alvin Gentry reported that Steve Nash would be a game time decision for the Suns' match against the Lakers on Thursday night.

Nash did some shooting during the light workout then headed to the locker room for treatment on the ankle. He didn't speak with the media, but Coach Gentry said in regards to Steve's bad wheel, "We didn't do alot today, so we don't know. He'll go through shootaround tomorrow, see how he feels, and make our decision from there."

Gentry called the Lakers the best team in the NBA with the best player in the game. He felt the key to beating the Lakers for the first time since they acquired Pau Gasol is for the Suns to impose their will on the Lakers and get easy baskets in transition and to rebound and not turn the ball over.

To recap Gentry's (public) game plan:

  • Impose your will
  • Get easy points
  • Rebound
  • Don't turn the ball over and give them easy points

We don’t have a chance……I will be happy if it stays close.

I'm telling ya

The Lakers are due for a loss.

They have been losing focus lately and barely beat the T-Wolves & OKC. They also play in Denver Friday night and in Phx Sunday afternoon.

I figure they’ll probably lose at least one of those games. Maybe not likely Thursday night at Staples but it wouldn’t surprise to see them drop one of the other two.

Seven Players Or Less

Imposing their will:

—>We will (play the scrubs)

—> We will (not play Nash)

—> We will (see what happens)

Nash plays

it’s a mind-game like they do in the NFL with the “injured” players reports.

Gentry's Plan

hmmm…..shouldn’t “Play Defense” be part of his plan?

I think...

‘deny easy baskets’ is about all the defense he can expect.

I think

Gentry’s a bit too realistic to expect much defense in his game plan.
