Rupaul on the view

Did anyone else happen to see Rupaul on the view the other day? I could not stomach the sight (of Rupaul or those women, except for tasty Elizabeth) so I did not stick around to see what the topic of discussion was, but it made me think.

I can't help but wonder if that was purely because of Shaq's classic characterization of uber-softy Chris Bosh. I have not heard the name Rupaul in probably 10 years prior to Shaq's comment. The guy can truly make anyone or anything relevant again. Rupaul needs to send Shaq a fruit basket.

I thought the same, until I checked the google trends on RuPaul

apparently RuPaul mentions had been surging before Shaq mentioned it. RuPaul is now 48 and there is a new Project Runway show out there looking for the next Great Drag Queen Model with RuPaul as the host. They say its the best Project Runway show yet.

The surging mentions of RuPaul probably caused the name to come up in Shaq’s mind, so Shaq’s characterization was more the effect than the cause.

Good to know, appreciate the correlation. I will be the first to admit my ignorance of the Project Runway franchise (is that an appropriate word for something that is systematically causing the downfall of society?) left me without any knowledge of said spin-off.

Anyone happen to hear RuPaul’s reaction to Shaq’s comment? Was he angered to be equated with Mr. Bosh-serve ice cream?
