Stoudemire out for playoffs: To Tank or Not to Tank
Yahoo: Stoudemire is out for the Playoffs
so basically, even if we do make the playoffs, we wont have amare. this really sucks. we should seriously think about whether we want this team to make the playoffs, or just finish with 40+ wins and get a good, solid first round pick (not that we can control that - but still). at least now, if we dont make the playoffs, we wont feel so bad.

Fully expected this
after the way o5-06 went.
Question now is, do you really want to wait for amare next year or the year after?
I’ll miss him, but I’ve accepted that his career as a sun needs to close.

+1
Me too. We need to go somewhere else. If he stays we’ll be building the team around him, but not because he’s awesome, but to hide his deficiancies.
Take care of the little things, and the big things will take care of themselves.

good times. but yeah, if we really want to be more defensive-oriented, let the rebuilding process begin ASAP. this includes young talent – talent acquirable through the draft. top 14 may seem low, but their is quality at that position. we may even pull of a miracle and win the lottery (i doubt, but still). what makes this ironic is if we do make the playoffs as the 8th seed in the west, we will probably wind up with the 20th pick in the draft (factoring in team record) and most likely will be swept in the first round by the lakers (which would kinda be embarassing, with the way d’ antoni arrogantly declared last year “lets see how they do in the playoffs where we constantly knock them out” (paraphrased). by the way zona, thanks for pimping up the post. :) am not really good with webpages. :|
Do we have a choice to tank or not to tank?
I mean, come on, we’re losing games like they’re pennies out of a torn pocket.

haha, this is the Bright Side =)
We presume we have a choice!! I’m am laughing…. =)

They won't tank.
The problem is this team is not a playoff team. This just leaves another confusing chapter in the book of the Phoenix Suns. What to do with Amare?
What a year.

check out bosh's comments on shaq
‘I didn’t laugh or anything, it wasn’t funny,’ Bosh said yesterday at the Air Canada Centre. ‘I was kind of upset with that. He has been around the league for awhile and I expected a lot more professionalism out of him. I thought we were cool. Whatever.’
I'm not sure what it is about Shaq's conduct the past few years
that would give Bosh this expectation of “professionalism,” but whatever works for him, I guess.
What has Bosh done in the League?
Hey Chris go win a playoff game.

Can't vote
I think the Suns should try to win, but not because Amare is overrated.
Four small guys and Shaq should be interesting to watch.
Mmmmm ... Guinness
I agree.... no choice
The schedule is brutal. We may lose 15 of 21 trying to win. I was going to make this point after the Miami game. The three 140 point games were fools gold. We are simply invisible on defense, and if we run up and down, most teams will simply match us. Look at what happened at Miami and Orlando. Even before the change, we couldn’t win in Charlotte. Indiana and New York can run with us. Toronto didn’t have the horses, but they are the one team out there that is a bigger 2008-2009 disappointment than us.
The Laker game was a mirage. It showed 2 things – 1) we have some pride left, and 2) the strategy of lulling Kobe into being a scoring machine so his teammates stand around and watch still works.

im praying for a miracle
im hoping we can somehow get the 3rd pick in the lottery and get ricky rubio..
My trade idea
was to trade Amare to the Wiz for Jamison and the #1 pick. That was about the only way you prayers would have been answered.

no way the wiz would do that
maybe if amare had like 4 years left in his contract, but with a chance to opt out in ’10? not gonna happen :(
You know this because
Washington is such a well run franchise? They’ve never gone anywhere with Jamison. Why should they think they will in the next four years? Here we are talking about whether Phoenix, a 45 win team, should blow things up and prepare for the future, and you are intimating that Washington, a 20 win team, should stay the course?
Help me out here

???
So you guys want to get into the playoffs after all?? I thought the idea was ‘just to have fun’?
Human thought is so primitive, it's looked upon as an infectious disease in some of the better galaxies. That kind of makes you proud, doesn't it?

All I want...
Is a fast playing, slow down, high scoring, grind it out team that plays a fun style of basketball while winning everything. And I get paid for watching.
Is that too much to ask?
