RJ to Spurs? Woah...
ESPN is reporting that the Bucks have traded Richard Jefferson to San Antonio for Bowen, Oberto, and Kurt Thomas.
SA definitely gets another offensive threat to go along with Parker, Duncan, and Ginobli, but they are giving up their 2 biggest defensive stoppers and a fan-favorite hustle guy.
hmmmm..
It's a clear sign that SA managment is willing to go to drastic lengths to revitalize the team.
History favors the bold. Is it too late for the Spurs? or is this going to bring another championship?
.
What do you guys think?

i think
richard jefferson gives them another legitimate scoring threat, and that bruce bowen and oberto weren’t exactly major rotation players. i think them losing kurt thomas will hurt them the most. while it gives them more firepower from the wings, it leaves their frontcourt thinner. who do they have now? duncan and matt bonner?

Spurs get another refund on a trade
Remember last year when they traded for Kurt Thomas, they traded away Brent Barry and a few paint buckets, but later got Barry back after what was Seattle at the time, waived him. Now they will get Bowen and Oberto back, since the Bucks are gonna waive them. Meanwhile to give Kurt Thomas away, we had to throw in 2 first rounds on top of that.

The Bucks are going to buy out Bowen for half his owed contract. Bruce will be back in a spurs uniform before training camp. THAT JUST HAPPENED!

Another stellar trade ...
For Spurs management. Never ceases to amaze me how great the great GMs are … Buford, Pritchard, Presti, Morey, Dumars … they’ll continually find ways to make their teams better and keep them competitive. These guys seem to make their own luck.
Everyone gave Dumars way too much crap for the AI trade. Well, we’ll see how good/bad that trade really is this summer when the Pistons are one of the only teams with money to spend.

Dumars is overrated
Remember, he drafted Darko over Melo, D-Wade, and Bosh. For every great move he makes, he follows up with a boneheaded one. Firing Larry Brown for Flip Saunders was another mistake, as was the hiring of Michael Curry.

Good Point.
Though Flip Saunders still lead the team to a number of eastern conference finals in a row.

Trade Committee
Wasn’t it Popovich who said the league should police one-sided trades? ahem Gasol.
Even more so, if the Sp*rs get a player or two back from the Bucks after they’re bought it.

I hate the Spurs, but
I am tired of us getting oin them for their trade ethics. I thinkk if we ever pulled off a clever move like trading Jrich, Amundsen, and Hill for Nowitzki and then signed Hill and Lou 30 days later, every one here would be ecstatic.
They have demonstrated over and over that their just smarter than us (with the exception of the Barbosa trade).
Let’s get smart.

I'm jealous
I’m not knocking their trade ethics. Just making an observation. Sour grapes vs. sitty pretty is all.
